Pre-overclocked bundles

Some of you may know my PSU blew up, well I got a new one today and much to my dismay, my CPU and motherboard will not work anymore

.

Was speaking to Tom and he suggested getting a i7 but since that's out of my price range with Christmas being so soon I was looking at i5 overclocked bundles.

Aria have a i5 760 system for £350 which the specs are:

• Intel® Core™ i5-760 Overclocked @ 3.80GHz - Quad Core CPU

• 4GB Mushkin Silverline 1600MHz 9-9-9-24

• MSI P55-GD65 ATX Motherboard

• GELID Tranquillo CPU Cooler

Overclockers also have a i5 760 system but for £400 and the specs are:

- CPU: Intel Core i5 760 2.80GHz @ 4.00GHz

- Motherboard: Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard

- RAM: Corsair Dominator 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel

- Cooler: Corsair A50 CPU Cooler

I don't really know much about the new tech (775 man) so i'm wondering what the best price/performance is.

they prob gonna be very similar as ur an overclockin man u can oc the overclockers bundle but its £50 dearer not sure how the coolers match up tho

I think you're better of building it yourself, then you can add the beautiful Noctua

Also if you've used 775 so far you will need to learn the way the chip/mobo clock so in case anything goes wrong you can fix it. Are you just going for a bundle for a 'hassle free' solution?

Hmm, just added all the prices seperatly from the overclockers bundle and it comes in at £357.96 but the parts seperate from aria comes to £314.03 so i'll probably get the parts seperate (although the mushkin ram is out of stock).

So new question here guys, I need a CPU, Mobo and ram with the price range £300-£350

Wow, that's tough! Can't you wait a couple of months for 1155 to come out and lower prices on 1156 or will they also stop being available (1156)?

I was sooooo close to ordering the Aria one cos it comes with Mushkin.

I can't tell you how many times I thought of waiting. However, a few things put me off.

1. New hardware. Always smells for a bit. early 920 was poo.

2. Bios. Early bioses are buggy and jumping on the latest tech can lead to bad mobos down the line when the bugs show through.

3. VAT increase.

I don't know if 1155 will have any of the problems of other early hardware but it did scare me off a bit considering that rotten stinky rev a evga I had.
