power supply woes

Tripp

too many shrooms
Ok so I have been having some problems with my rig, I kept getting kernel 41 power problems where the rig would just shut down while at full chat when gaming, pretty sure it was drawing more power than the RM750 could supply I changed all my cables and power supply, and popped in my AX850 to see if that sorted the issue. Alas now my second GPU isn't showing up in Nvidia control panel, even after a driver sweep and fresh install. Both of the Pci-e power lights are lit up on both cards, but I can't figure out what the problem is, any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Are both cards showing in device manager?

First thing to do is swap the cards over to make sure that both working, then boot with only one card installed, then shutdown and replace second card, boot with both cards, and then check device manager again and check both cards are both there, and then check nvidia control panel.

If after all this both cards are installed and it not detecting the second card, then it is more than likely an issue with the pci-e slot being used, or an issue showing up due to overclocking.

So restore bios defaults and try that to eliminate any overclocking you did, and then see if it is replicated again then.

As above - remove overclocks first and foremost then try one GPU

Stop skipping testing and just chucking another GPU in - there IS NOT enough difference between those two power supplies to warant swapping them out. I told you before the 750 will be fine and you did say (before you started overclocking) everything was running sweet.

Stop rushing and panicking, drink some common sense juice and chill out

No its the GPU sadly had died, wouldn't mind it's the one Excalabur50 helped me get from Australia too, do asus do replacements? Meh I am gutted atm just tops off the past week

I take then that the card didn't work when run alone?

Did you overclocked the gpu and memory on it?

No It didn't mate, an no didn't do any overclocking on the card of any sort, just let GPU Boost 2.0 do its thing

Sorry to hear that bud.

Was going to offer you my PSU for testing given the rigs dismantled ATM, going to be rebuilding tomorrow.
