Power Supply Advice please!

I have bought a 15" advent monitor off of ebay, which was cheap as it was lacking a power supply. The screen is listed as taking 12v/3a dc power, and my current resources are a 12v/2.5 a dc supply with the wrong head, which i might get an adaptor for, and thats about it. My questions...

1.Will the 2.5a supply run the screen safely if i get an adaptor????

2.Where can i get a suitable supply? all the maplins etc. supplies seem to be 1 amp or less.

3.Has anyone got such a supply which they could give/sell me?

excellent! thanks SBB, i 'll see if maplins have anything similar, then i may just buy that!

I've seen universal ones for laptops, might be worth having a look at those, theres a lot of them on ebay. Anything maplins stock is likely to be a lot more expensive.

You would be surprised, the combination of fair prices and excellent staff, makes it well worth a buy. For instance, the supply which was a tenner on ebay is about 12 from maplins, and of course there's no P&P costs!
