Power Saving Issues

Recently I've been having a couple problems with my screen. Sometimes, when I open Sapphire Trixx, my computer locks up for a second, then my screen goes into power saving mode. It's done this twice now, but I can still hear everything thats going on, e.g. whatever game/video I had on beforehand, and will not turn back on until I do a hard shutdown.

I tried unplugging the power from the monitor, tried plugging the DVI cable into my TV, and it wasn't receiving a signal, and tried using a different DVI and VGA cable.

I have power saving completely turned off in the control panel, and this only happens when I open Trixx, so I'm thinking that opening Trixx is somehow affecting my graphics card. I've swapped which port that the DVI is connected to on the graphics card to see if that fixes it, but if anyone else can shed any light on the problem it would be great.

I've also re-installed Trixx and got the latest graphics drivers, but it still keeps happening, seemingly whever I open it during a game, as its never occured whilst just on the desktop or when I'm doing anything else.

Specs:

i5 3570k @ stock
XFX DD Radeon HD7950
MSI z77a G43
2x4GB G.Skill RipjawsX 2133MHz
650W CoolerMaster PSU
Dell ST2320

Under the Advanced Power Settings there is a Link State Management option under PCI Express. If that is set to anything other than off, it may be the cause of your problems. If that setting is turned on, turn it off and see what happens.

Thanks, turns out it was on Moderate Power Settings so I turned it off, hopefully that fixes it. Guess only time will tell.
