Post Your Desktop Thread **56k**

icons are the mini ocd in me lol!

i want one of the guys that do all that rendering stuff to make me a wallpaper with a couple of logos and stuff, so i can use it for HWBOT

I changed my simple desktop to another very simple desktop. I've said before, anything brighter or busy distracts me.

I don't really have a desktop per se since I use a tiling window manager (i3, to be
exact), but this is what my screen looks like when I'm doing some standard stuff.

EDIT: O/S is Arch Linux.

I really like your desktop.
Do you mind if i ask how you got it like that?

Thanks and yeah no probs.

First thing you will need to do is download and run this

http://www.eightforums.com/customiz...ch-uxtheme-dll-using-ultrauxthemepatcher.html

Theme i'm using is

http://gsw953onda.deviantart.com/art/Gray8-Color-Pac-346973557

All instruction are in there. With the system files you will need to download a program called Take ownership

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/2814-take-ownership-add-context-menu-windows-8-a.html

When installed, right click on the System32 and syswow64 folders in C:\ windows and you will see a option that says "take ownership" click that and CMD will open and run for a sec or two while it changes the admin privileges. Windows wont let you replace the files otherwise.

I used this Icon package for the OS icons, it comes with a program that does it for you. Tutorial inside also.

The dock is Objectdock, Objectdock isn't free though and you will have to buy it. For Windows 8 you will need Objectdock 2.

The icons are Token dark icons.

The clock in the top right is from a Rainmeter skin from

http://lilshizzy.deviantart.com/art/Rainmeter-Simple-Media-1-1-212678796

You will need to download and install Raimeter to use it though

Couple of notes, with the transparent program there isn't a way to save the settings. So each time you boot into windows you have to re-set the settings. Not a big prob for me as I hardly ever turn my PC off or restart it.

Also, to get it to run on start up you need to place the .exe in

C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs

If you need any help with with doing any of it or get stuck, let me know.
