I threw mine away, since the lighting to it didn’t work. Corsair software literally sucked ass. I literally had to have it opened up on my desktop everytime I wanted it to light up in the colour I wanted. Did I minize it, it went back to the standard rainbow effect.

The best part is, I couldn’t even save a lighting profile inside the software. So everytime I opened it up, I had to re-dial every setting over and over again. It ended up just doing my head in.

Although, I do agree, they are extremely well made and it’s overall construction quality just felt very premium and luxurious.

Why didn't you just send it off to Corsair to get it fixed ? It's obvious you had a faulty one.

How can I send off their own software to them?...

It wasn't the software it was the device, I have CUE open right now and can change the lighting to anything and it stays just fine even when I close to the notification area.

I had the same problem and it turned out to be the USB socket of the ST100 which was causing issues.

He is saying you have to have the software open so it keeps his settings. As soon as you exit the software it goes to default. Same thing with the keyboards and mice. It's pretty bad software honestly. I can't even program macros for application launches without having the software open. It's dumb as dirt. What the hell is the point of having onboard profile storage if it doesn't even let me do half the crap I want? I don't want to have the software minimized. I do not want to waste system resources for things I don't need.

I know what he said but he said he minimised it not exited it.

iCUE runs quietly in the background when you close it to the system tray, No point in closing the program down fully as it uses next to no system resources, 0.8% CPU and 80MB memory, It's a non issue.

I don't care if it is or not. The fact is I cannot close without losing functionality I need because it needs to be open. It's a waste of my recourses for bad software. I run the minimal amount of apps I need at all times. Having an RGB keyboard software open is annoying

Well to be fair, it was both having it minimzed and closing it. Lost settings and it switched back to default, by both.

I have come to the point I despise iCue more than I did Razer synapse.

It really is horrible. And it uses far more than 80mb. Currently 85 on icue, 56mb for corsair.service and then another 20mb for corsair.server.displayadapter.

All unnecessary. Funny thing is watching my 1000D white light go off when I close iCue. Even the ASUS Aura is better than that. I can close it and it holds the previous settings.

Custom backplate from ColdZero, 6mm thick transparent plexi backplate for my AE-5 soundcard, Top part has black UV ink printed onto it and AE-5 directly in the centre, In a 3mm cutout underneath there is a strip of addressable RGB's that plug directly into the cards onboard RGB controller so light can seep out of the sides of the transparent plexi and through the lettering on top.

That's going to look great Dice. Will we see pictures once it's done?

I've just ordered a pair of 480GB Kingston A400 2.5" SSD's.

The idea is put them into RAID0 through my motherboard. I can then partition the array into two leaving some unallocated space to prevent slowdowns. I'll then use them to cache the EXT4 and NTFS partitions of my 5TB HDD. Because they're going to be treated as cache RAID0 won't be a risk; Windows/Linux is on an M.2 drive. Sure the speed won't be of any practical use at all, but hey, it sounded like a fun thing to try.

There is a point to this mad endevour. Firstly, because I can. Secondly, rather than spending similar money on a 1TB SSD and moving games around as I play them I can have Linux (bcache)/Windows (Primocache) do it automatically. Sure an extra 1TB of total storage could be useful, but I'm not anywhere near running out, and when I do I'll probaly just grab a bigger HDD if this cache thing works out.

I like having most of my library available at a moments notice just in case I get a random urge to play some game from a few years ago. While my internet is much better than it used to be game sizes are also growing so it's still usually an overnight affair to install them on a whim. Hopefully this will mean that games that I'm currently obsessing over get cached so they're loading as quickly as possible, but I've still got my entire library within instant reach on the massive HDD. With over 400GB of cache for each OS there should be plenty of space to cache a mixture of games.

Also, just to reiterate this point; because I can, and it seemed like a bonkers fun thing to do...

So I bought a new guitar, a baritone. I've needed one for my music for a while but never could decide on one. I finally did and I'm over the moon with it. It's a PRS SE277 Semi-Hollow Soapbar Stealth with a satin black finish over a quilted veneer.
