Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Needed new shoes and these were 50% off online (Vans ISO 1.5). Think I got a great deal. Gotta love Bordeaux red, too.

Nice haul by the way, Alien! Gotta love those aquacomputer blocks. They're mad sexy.

Just a few new things...

I've had a busy time lately :D After weeks of issues with my GPU and my motherboard, I finally buckled down and got stuff sorted. Sent my 980 Ti off to EVGA, and then I went to search for a replacement for my i5 and my Z77 mobo. A week ago EVGA gave me a lovely surprise, and two days ago, the day before my birthday, my new gear arrived!

Lovely surprise up/side-grade here from EVGA. Went from a 980 Ti to 1070 FTW thanks to the kindness of someone in the RMA dept.

ASUS ROG Strix B350-F mobo. The budget was super tight, mostly because it was reliant on the resale value of my old gear. So while I would have preferred an X370 board, beggars can't be choosers. This thing not only fills my current needs, but it looks so god damn nice.

The brains of the group. My first AMD powered rig since 2011, and boy howdy is it nice. I may or may not upgrade this to an R7 later down the road, depending on what happens with Zen+ and/or Zen2. For now though, it is more than good enough.

RAM was something of a tricky decision, given the apparent issues with compatibility. This is G.Skills Ripjaws F4-3200C16D-16GVK. Yet again, budget was the deciding factor here, and as such I am stuck with 3200 RAM that I can't get any higher than 2400 without crashing, or at least not until I figure out all this AM4 overclocking malarkey.

Here's the new rig all powered up and looking lovely. Got some LED lighting strips on the way to hook to the RGB headers on the mobo, and a second set of addressable stuff (yay for sales) for when ASUS finish the AURA software. Oh, and no I don't run with the side off, that's just to get rid of reflections.

and this is what I got for my actual birthday from my wife

The book is something I've seen a lot of people on Twitter talking about, and after seeing various bits of it posted up by owners of the book, it went on my Amazon wishlist. The other things are two mini Lego Brick Headz. Just because I'm nearly 40 doesn't mean I can't play with Lego still :D

And finally, fingers crossed, on Tuesday I'll be taking delivery of my EVGA CLC 280 to replace the AMD stock cooler, and that'll be me done until I can afford an M.2 drive. Not a bad week really :D

Picked it up off scan good price for a 240mm I feel it's doing the job well only down side is I'd have liked more screw fittings so just have it with one set of fans atm.

I got annoyed with this with my H100i as well. If I ever do Push/Pull I would have to buy another screw set

Push/pull is highly overrated, Have the fans in pull, You only lose maybe 2-3'c but this way any and all dust is easily wiped off with a brush and vacuum from the underside as it won't go through the fins, Saves having to take fans off and then cleaning which is a PITA.

Waste of time on AIO. you will get a massive 0.5%-1% improvement and end up with more noise.

Even on a custom 480 rad. Its like 2% improvement TOP on watt dissipation. I only see people doing pushpull for the looks these days.

I know it's overrated, and believe me, I'd love to have my fans in pull, but I can't fit my H100i to my 400C with the fans in pull, I have to have them in push. Plus it's more of a statement on that with how expensive AIO's can be, they should come with stuff like that so users can do whatever they want to do

Wanted one of these for so many years I can't even remember. Got it at a great price, seller is delivering for cost of fuel hopefully tomorrow.

Any marks will polish out. Even got the polish ! What's unusual is that it has both door lock flaps intact. These are always lost, so an immediate no for a collector. However, what makes this thing proper hen's teeth is this.

The original cable management cage. These are NEVER intact and in place. Seller says he moved into a new house and it was in the garage under a mound of dust. It will lead a very happy life in my collection. It's the only Area 51 I did not have.

£20.99.

I am ordering a very small desk/workstation later (60cm wide) for my old skool rig. So I can sit at it properly and game etc (got room where the ex's clock used to be) so fancied a smallish keyboard. Amazing what you can get for £20 these days tbh.
