Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

What games have folks bought in the Steam sale (if any)? I bought:

Black Ops II - I played this game a lot on PS3 and I missed it. I'm having a blast starting again.
Fallout 4
Dirt Rally
Homeworld Remastered
Dragon Ball Xenoverse
Deus Ex Mankind Divided
ABZU

I've got some DLC for Motorsport Manager and Cities Skylines but that's probably all I'll get, hate being skint

When you do go on Holiday might I suggest some nice whiskey with a small amount of dark chocolate and a nice cigar while listening to some slow jazz, I only suggest it as that helped me relax after my last break up ^_^

It's funny you say that ! a couple of months back my wife went to Cuba (I don't fly and I am half ginger so I hate the heat). She brought me back a bottle of Cuban rum (even though I don't drink, guess the gifts were limited) but best of all some proper, real Cuban cigars.

I've got a 20 case of small ones about the size of a cig so I have one of those every few days and a nice big fat one. I think I will take the rum and the nice big fat one on holiday and take you up on that :D

Bought some DLC for Rise of Flight and two modules for DCS World (Mig-15 Bis and F-86 Sabre)

I'm about to be single. After 3 years together my partner is heading to the states for 3 months then off to Europe for 2 years. You can't really make that work long distance. Her passion is language and unfortunately the job market here is dry. She's 26 so the time to travel is now or never. (I'm 45 so not really great employment prospects if I moved and zero languages aside from English)

Still life is what you make of it. After my previous relationship of 15 years I never thought I'd meet someone else yet I did.

Wow, an Aussie leaving Aus for work :o

Not something you see very often ! they're desperate for British workers !

Lol I thought all barmen and women in British pubs were Aussies? That's the great tradition - work/shag your way around the UK.

We have quite a few british ex-pats at my work. Always good value when the cricket's on.

Well I ended uip selling my Sennheiser 650's and Phillips X2HR's as the Beyer 880 Premiums and 990 Premiums seem to have roughly the same sound signature as the formerly mentioned headphones.

As I have now unwittingly become a Beyerdynamic collector I thought it would be wise to get cases for each to protect them.

Got 4 of these for my 770 Pro, 880 Premium, 990 Pro and 990 Premium.

I really like the all black version 990 (Pro?)

Very interesting how you thought the 650 is the same as the Beyers you have. I was under the impression the 650's was one of the few headphones you could actually tell of an actual improvement in the overall sound signature when coming from the Beyers/similar priced headphones. They are more expensive which is also another indicator they performed better.

Then again, I guess it depends on the gear you have and if you physically tell a difference(with and without better gear). One other thing could just be preference I suppose. If you like Beyers then that must mean you LOVE treble;)

Well the 990 premiums sound "roughly" the same as the 650's, I just prefer the sound of the 990's to the 650's, I have weird ears ^_^

I love my 990 Pros. Though with my music, metal as am sure you know from the music thread, the treble can sometimes be unbearable. Depends on the song. A great example is Hands Held High(not a metal song ironically lol), the S sound is VERY prominent in that song and even at low low volumes can really just torture my ears.
Then on the other side, the bass in the 990s are good but again some songs just go over the top with bass and it just gets muddy but this is much less(like only 2 songs) of an issue for me. I can easily point to my dac for that and my amp tends to prefer treble clarity over bass.

My ears as you can guess are picky:p

Having critical listening skills is a good thing. Otherwise how would you appreciate good sound, and, get the most out of expensive equipment?

This is why I bought the Graham Slee amp. I was using a cheap amp before that (Aune TK1 MK2) and it was OK, but in order to get the best sound out of my better headphones I needed a better amp.

I had a set of Beyers before (Custom One Pro) and I did not like them much. They seemed under built and the drivers weren't of the highest quality. The bass, although punchy and plentiful sounded a bit thin. You got the bass but yeah, sounded a bit woody and cardboardy. Cheap drivers no doubt, and I can tell the different fast.

Being an Aspie I get to enjoy or hate sounds, taste, smells etc. But too much of any of them makes me ill. Can't have women wearing perfume for example, just completely overwhelms my senses.

Not taking the piddle here but if we had aspies on quality control in factories I can guarantee customer satisfaction would go up.

If an Aspie can work (like if they don't have problems associated with it) then yeah, we make awesome employees.

Bill Gates etc, all Aspies. My ex wife's ex was an Aspie, codes software for helicopters.

But yeah, I am picky and immensely critical of everything. If it doesn't match up I'll tear it apart. No wait, I will do that any way :D

My Ex is an Aspie and she works in Textiles, her attention to detail is frightening and her work priority is phenomenal. Get in her way or slow her down and you know about it, an Aspie melt down is not a pretty sight. If I ran a business though I'd employ her in a heartbeat.

When I worked in the computer shop managing the repair side it was like that. It got to the point where they cleared out the third shop (it was full of junk and Amstrad parts) and put me in there. A customer would come in, book in his/her computer and they would hand it through a hole in the wall and I would get on it.

That was the longest I've ever held a job down (just over 3 yrs) and we had some absolutely blazing rows before they finally just trusted me and left me to it. That was literally how it needed to be. We just did not get on at all, but my work rate, speed of diagnosing etc was second to none. I was also very, very good at sales (better than any of them including the owners !) because I was so passionate about the subject.

My problem, and biggest downfall is the co-morbidity. Bipolar. Due to this I would take 4-6 weeks off every few months because I could not handle doing the same thing day in day out. As I said though, try and replace me (they did...).

I even left because the wages were not good enough, found another job and had them begging me to come back with a quite large wage increase etc. I did return, but about six months later I went off to the USA.

I phoned the manager the other day (his father has passed away :( ) and had a really long phone chat with him. Went on for over 3 hours. I'd not been in contact with him since I left because as a joke I hacked all of his emails and changed all of the passwords. He didn't see the funny side :D

I've never lasted more than about 6 weeks - 3 months in any other job. I would either lose my temper when some one spoke down to me and slap/kick them or I would just not bother showing up.

Mum and I were having a good laugh the other day when we found some of my old school reports from middle school. I would have been 8-12, IIRC, maybe 13 before I left. Any way, it said "Andrew is a genius. Literally. When he can be bothered to show up"

:rollinglaugh:

My brother has done so much better in life than I. He went to college when he was 16 on YTS and became a very skilled craftsman. Carpentry was his main gig, but he was so good at it he got head hunted off site to be a teacher @ Epsom college teaching C&J. Then another college basically offered him more so he's there now.

House in Caterham, two cars, very expensive caravan etc. Me? I got bugger all.

Thing is I am far more intelligent than he is. The last time I did an IQ test I scored 152, and I was heavily medicated at the time.

I just can't apply it because my brain is all over the sodding place. That's been my main failing in life. Build it all up, get credit, start earning good money - eff it all up.

Aspergers, like Ben Affeck in the accountant, shooting people in the face all the time, good with numbers, etc. :D

Oh ok... I was seriously confused. Thought it was some mix of Assuie and Polish or something odd...
I kinda feel that word Aspie is kinda offensive though. You are labeling someone who is different because of a condition. Normally I don't care but my mother helps people who are disabled and whatnot so I guess I'm biased here.
