OMG!! i had one too, Silver one, which i broke then i got the Pink one :D which i eventually sold on

My brother absolutely loves his G3. He told me once you get use the buttons on the back it's so much quicker than when the buttons are other places like the edge of the phone.

I have a G2 and my friend a G3, they are awesome especially for the money. It's a truly obvious place for the buttons and it just feels right for the size, tap to wake is excellent also. I would love a G4 or M9 they are just stupidly expensive though.

I love my M8. With the new Lollipop update the tab to wake actually works. It's amazing how much faster it is compared to the power button! I read reviews on the M9 and most people are saying while it's a great phone, it's more meh compared to other flagship phones and that the M8 was a much bigger step for HTC. I think I would agree on that s well.

On Lollipop i'm pretty sure yes. Though before Andriod 5.0 i'm almost 100% certain that it was up to phone manufacturer's to implement it. Many sucked at it. Like the HTC One M8 I mentioned earlier. Android 5 really made it work for all phones. LG G series have always been great at it afaik
 
No not every device has it, neither on 5.0 my trusty old Nexus4 doesnt have it out of the box but a custom kernel helps :D

I greatly approve of the step back towards more conventional cameras and as such slightly cleaner design. Love the grey finish too, I think i'll just wait until they depreciate. :D Doubt I could live with M8 battery life after my G2 but i'm a big HTC fan, had the HD2, One X and One X+ <3
