Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

I got one of these this week:

Annoyingly though, my ISP decides to have a "fault" in my area all this week. I can't do much by way of installing Windows without an internet connection.

You're joking right..?

I also just picked up a 120gb 840, and I also can't do anything with it, due to virgin media being retarded. Crazy coincidence ^_^

It is indeed. I figured I wasn't really going to notice the difference between this and the more expensive PRO version.

What'd that request be?

could you if i screenshot the settings i use, record a video using afterburner while gaming onto the SSD i wanna see if the non pro version can handle the write speed, im looking at picking another SSD up and i can go for a bigger capacity for the same money unless i need the pro then i drop down a tier!

I part traded a bum tonne of bike parts and my old dell case for the bike in the middle (A ribble Dolan special). I couldn't resist it. Look, it is even a halfway house in terms of wheel colors :D.

I had nothing but problems with Virgin Media when I used to live in Edinburgh a few years ago. My current ISP is pretty good in comparison, a good solid 100Mbs speed for about 2 years now, hopefully this doesn't become frequent.

Yeah no problem! As soon as I get my internet back and Windows 7 up and running on it, that is. :p

Sounds like fun mate. I live right on the coast so lakes are very scarce :( there is one in Arundel though that I've been to a couple of times :)

I mainly fish from the beach but it's against a wall so you don't need any tripods or anything like that. Catch mostly bass and doggies :)

Not been for ages tbh but am definitely getting ready for the summer :)

using thunderbolt for display or storage?

Neither lol
Well i will be using it for storage at some point.

I don't upgrade my rig often and i wanted to future proof it as much as i can. The old board i have i bought around christmas time. I wanted this one but it was too expensive back then. Now it's dropped by a fair chunk so i'm returning the old one and having this one. XD

But Haswell launches in a couple of weeks

Ah well, I guess if you got the money to support such a habit then just go with Christ, bra.

The green bike actually functions as a semi bmx at the mo'. It was a track bike at some point in it's life but as the frame was quite cheap to start with (think the eqivilent of 1980's tesco own brand racer) It needed a lot of work to become atleast vaguely competitive so I built a stunt bike :D.

Mmmmm Pearsons ^_^.

Finally got my internet back, and I installed Windows 7 on the SSD last night using the AMD AHCI drivers.

I haven't run any benchmarks but the difference between the mechanical drive is night and day even if this isn't the fastest SSD around. Really fast boot times, installation times and all my apps launching pretty much instantly.

The only thing I did do is run the Windows Experience Index which jumped up to 7.9 for the primary disk.

@MrKambo
Start a thread in the Storage section and I'll see what I can do regarding your request. :p
