A new LAN PC.

I only go LAN night twice a year (like, to a mate's house) but I play it every weds evening remotely.

I have three PCs. Two at home, one at my mum's. I would need to install 10 games three times to make sure I have them all, and you know how that goes. CBA. So I end up sitting out long sessions (my fault, I take it on the chin).

So I wanted something powerful yet luggable. Enter this.

12700H, Arc 770m 16gb, 64gb RAM and a 2tb NVME.

It also means I get to play with Arc without peeing with any of my desktops. Will get a laptop bag later so I can lug it, also have a Razer Viper Mini I can lob in the bag too.

The CompuCleaner did a hell of a job with cleaning my rig. Took off both side panels, Removed the GPU, Stuck some masking tape on the fans to stop them moving and the amount of crap, Even though I am a very clean person, That came out of the system was quite disgusting, Fair amount came off the GPU fins too.

CPU temps dropped 8'c at load and GPU temps dropped 4'c, Pretty impressive just for a deep cleaning.

My rig could do with a clean i just took a look since i watched your short clip, flecks of dust on the side panel, thou i blame the 2x240mm corsairs in the front for that. I personally don't wish too take the GPU out so a simple wipe is good enough for me.

Thou i'd have to say one of the tools you used is far better option than air cans etc.

I just use microfiber cloths and if the side is scratched in any way then some headlight cleaner, have been thinking if there is a replacement side panel for the 750D but with glass or if i can get a sheet cut to size and reinforced.

I really do not regret the 750D it took some sorting out as 2nd hand and it's huge, but it will last me a very long time few options in the new cases that even come close to it even from corsair themselves.

Got a few things going on at the moment, I had the chance to order a new GPU and so I took the option.

My dad will be getting my 3080Ti and I will be lending my mate, my dad's 2080Ti until he can get a new GPU.

Don't fancy using stupid adaptors so new PSU was needed as well.

There are a few games I'll be wanting that don't wish to wait for mainly gta vi next year but currently ffvii rebirth, but I'll be able to play my ps4 stuff in 4k better than the 2nd hand base ps4 model I picked up. Got the digital as I don't have any physical games and I'm on gigabit so it doesn't matter can most likely download faster than it is to move from one drive to the other.

I feel £389 is a fair price tbh to not wait on gta vi as how long did it take them to put v on pc I'm not dealing with that again.

Still red dead in 4k I'll enjoy until rebirth.

You wouldn't really need to take the GPU out, Just put some painters tape between the fan blades to make sure they don't spin, You'd be amazed at how much crap can come out of the system using 1 of these electric dusters.

I now wipe the internals with a microfiber cloth and then use the duster, Everything looks brand new now.

I was contemplating getting a PS5 a bit back mainly for games like God of War Ragnarok and Spiderman 2 as it'll be likely another 2 years before they come to PC.

Yea I'm only getting it for the few games I don't want to wait for or that may take a long time or never come depends. The digital version is fine for me as I have leftover ps4 games and since TV upgrade I'll be able to enjoy them in 4k. The main reason is ffvii rebirth but it's more that we're at the mid point of the gen so over the next year or two there will be some games that use the hardware better like always. Still I felt for what I'm getting the lower price of the digital was well worth it not much more expensive than a series s tbh.

Plus the slim model has slightly more space than before just overall decent value on these and they are selling alot of them. But come gta vi launch is not when I want to be trying to buy one lol.

Thats a great price. It costs me almost double to have the same here. I would buy one purely for the entire Final Fantasy Franchise. but £600 for me is a bit much for a console

£600 Sounds more like the price of the drive version as in the UK that is on avg with a game £450 but I just don't need the physical with gigabit fiber it's only plastic and can download it faster than reading from disc.

Still it'll be here in a few hours first thing I'll do is download my library and add ps plus premium but the rebirth bundle is £95 so I need to wait on that for a bit picked up some sony wh-ch720n headphones so I can play at night as my surround sound is a little loud lol

When friends are here it'll stream to the PC.

Thats the average price for the disc-less version. There are some cheaper places but they are never in stock. The disc version is about £60-80 more

I know it's all relative thou but still that's a high price I can understand 15% more but not 40% maybe you should think about getting one shipped over but then I expect import tax you just can't win.

It's funny you mention all this. All the crazy Americans boasting about Scandinavian progressive ideals and how good the quality of life is conveniently forget about the absurd taxes you face.

When I tell them these things and how it's generally more tax heavy than America(which is quite a feat) they call me a fascist lol^_^

Well PS5 set up annoying setup as even to get to the home screen took an hour. Added PS plus and downloading my old library as well as some PS5 games picked up metro exodus gold as silly cheap but the main PS5 games I'm downloading are ghost of tushima remake demon souls ffvii remake intergrade and the PS5 version of good old gta V.

Not actually played anything yet as total download is about 1.5 terabytes lol

Much prefer it too the ps4 menu being more powerful is noticed even in menus and general UI is better, but once stuff is done installing I'll get into something and while waiting can watch films or stream the library of games which is vast on the premium actually some good stuff in there worth having it for just a shame you don't get streaming on the extra as I'd have gone for that option instead.

One game I was happy to see from the ps1 thou was karushi fun little game I played as a demo many years back.

Overall if your net speed is upto it the premium is worth the extra cost simply to save hdd space, thou I'm hoping nvme prices fall more as I'd like to add a 4tb drive otherwise 2tb I guess is fine. Using my two external nvme drives as PS4 game storage so 3tbs on day one is plenty

There must be near 1000 games total I have access too but I was disappointed to see that some of the best newest games were game trails which is fine to test but they only give you 2 hours.

The best part is it's silent I don't hear anything from the console at all.

Ordered a cat5e as the WiFi on it even to my mesh in my room isn't the fastest so ordered a cheap £2, 5 meter cable then have it go direct to the mesh giving me 250mb speed over whatever its doing I guess I'm just spoiled with download speeds on the PC as I'm not used to waiting any more even the biggest games get done in 10mins so waiting over an hour for red dead 2 is kinda annoying first world problems.

Still I'm happy enough and not had any issues all extremely smooth and easy so far just time consuming with installs.

The added sony film core is 100 films I'd say at most 20 are worth watching but overall premium I would say is worth the extra £3.50

id honestly continue to pay these taxes if it means the QoL continues as it is. Lifestyles and culture in general is far more appealing to me here. I'd still choose Norway over America

Part of the reason ill never move back home to the UK. We also in our company get deducted a small amount of money which is paid back to us in a lump sum every summer. Its called Holiday money.

Not free money since you earned it, but by taking this amount each month (you are forced to take vacation some time in the year btw) I get a nice fat $4000 "before tax" handed out in june salary, which many use to pay for some wonderful family vacation or somewhere hot. Or you can dump it in pc parts

America could use something like that however everybody is so politically polarized and people have lost the art of conversation and debates. It probably won't ever happen. Shame because if people actually took vacation and spent time with family they might be actually be less of a prick ^_^

I believe it was Finland. Not sure that changes anything. I believe it's more to do with culture than money personally. Of course money helps though
