I'm not arguing over America or Norway, just stating what the idiots around me say lol
America could use something like that however everybody is so politically polarized and people have lost the art of conversation and debates. It probably won't ever happen. Shame because if people actually took vacation and spent time with family they might be actually be less of a prick ^_^

I believe it was Finland. Not sure that changes anything. I believe it's more to do with culture than money personally. Of course money helps though

yeah im not sparking an argument :) just a little teasing.

It was Norway that was shown to be the happiest country in the world right?

So it just goes to show there is more to life than money.

Denmark. Definately top 3 being Norway. Cant believe its been 16 years I have lived here now.

No way Finns can be happiest. They have the humor of a rampant tumbleweed :D :D :D

Played with the NUC all week. Aside from an annoying issue with the screen dropping out when idle (something to go with VFR I am certain) it runs lovely. Amazingly powerful wee beastie too tbh. It even races trays.

Had another strange issue with 11 refusing to pick up any of the network cards too (wired and wireless) but it turns out it's common on the latest build. Got there in the end. Bought this from my pal as a boot drive.

With spring supposedly here I decided to finally finish my 700c SS. I changed and upgraded a lot of parts on it before going on holiday with it.

But I messed one thing up. Before the trip it was on 46-18 gearing. Which I did not realise was perfect. I did have plans to go faster, so changed the rear sprocket to a 16 but it was too tall. The wheels are huge (29") and yeah, unless you are on completely smooth flat ground it was just too much gearing.

So instead of swapping the rear sprocket back (and the chain being too short) I bought a 44t in the same BCD.

Went with red because there are a couple of red accents on the bike now. Also will be replacing the horrible Chinesium rear sprocket with a Box Two 4130 one (that is what the other thing is there). Comes with a guard (good, because if my chain snaps it will mangle a 30 year old very rare and expensive carbon wheel).

I needed to have the drive train off it now any way. My friend machined the bolt inserts for the Titanium BB I got.

And made some bolt shoulders for the M8 Ti bolts I got.

So aye, may as well do it all at once.

So the GPU purchase ended up being a whole new build

I know I know, the fans don't match, I ordered the wrong colour and also not enough as I need 1 more to replace the rear fan, instead of using 1 that came with the AIO.

I will be replacing them as soon as I can.

The old case wouldn't take the card and wouldn't take it vertically either, so decided to get a new case, that then turned in to "cannot be bothered messing with the watercooling" so new board, chip, ram and cooler.

I had a 20% discount voucher at a company, and I was able to get the 7900X3D with the Asus X670E TUF motherboard, couldn't get the 7950X within budget.

Got a decent deal on some Corsair Dominator 6000Mhz CL30 ram, so snapped that up in a heartbeat.

I think I am going to look at some custom cables for the MSI PSU as the current ones are abit "plain".

The Gigabyte RTX 4080 Super Aorus Master is a BEAST!!!, it dwarfs the RTX 3080Ti it has replaced and weighs a ton, I am going to need to look at a better "Support" bracket for it.

Not a fan of Lian Li's Vertical GPU Mount, I need to look at finding a way to secure it better as feels really flimsy.

Upgraded from a 1TB 980 Pro to a 2TB 980 Pro, between Destiny 2, The Division 2, Palworld, Helldivers 2, Avatar, soon to be Horizon and a few others, the 1TB was not cutting it anymore.

My dad has done alright out of this though, he has got my old system and now I have his old one, which I have a new case for, which I will be rebuilding soon and then my cousin has mentioned he is interested in it so bonus.

And now it's the old reinstall Windows etc to get everything as it should be, then hammer my Unraid server as I have all the Steam installers backed up on there.

Got gifted the Synology DS223j diskless for my birthday (very unexpected very grateful). So as a result I went and bought 2 WD Gold 4TB drives. My wife uses an ungodly amount of storage. 4tb should last me a few years. I would have liked to use my own trueNAS or such but the convenience and apps available for Synology make it easy for the wife.

More storage this time extra for the PS5 already have a 1tb external nvme for all the older PS4 games that just about managed to get everything on which is good. So ordered a 2tb samsung 980 pro with heatsink, no intention of ever buying more storage again for the PS5.

other than this i'd ordered a few things here and there off temu but recently just a fair few games i guess around £200 on all the games on PS5 main two being ff16 and ff7 rebrith which is more than half the cost sadly but a lot of sale games and things i intend to play, spending more time on the PS5 relaxing in my bedroom with films etc than anything PC wise atm.

Still it's a decent drive price wise in the end there are viable options £20 cheaper but tbh you get what you pay for and some of the other brands i just wasn't sold on key thing being it needed a heatsink and while the sabrent is ideally the better option it was £30 more so this was tbh the best option i found on amazon at £145

Why? I can’t remember the 980’s *actually* needing any heatsink…

It's for the PS5 it's a tight enclosed space so a heatsink is needed as not like a PC where you have more airflow on PC the heatsink wouldn't be needed, other reason I got this drive was in future it could be reused for the PC but I expect the PS5 will last me some years certainly have plenty of games and more coming now that it's well into it's sweet spot era unless they go PS6 quickly.

Got this for a silly low price brand new, Sapphire Nitro+ 7900XTX Vapor-X

Find it funny that even the 4090 is thinner and yet destroys the 7900XTX in pretty much everything... yet it's only 3 slot. This is massive at over 3 slots, jesus christ.
