Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Really wish I didn't need to be doing this right now due to money but my aging Vega64 has started cutting out on me while on; no artifacts or anything, just randomly cuts out all output to my monitors so I have to force my PC to reboot to get them back. I've done driver reinstalls and rollbacks using DDU and checked my Windows install as well, all good there.

So, I've ordered one of these and a couple of other bits see whether it's heat related and if not, might end up shelling out for a new GPU because it may be that the HBM has started degrading which means it's pretty much done for.

That is what happened to my pal's 56.
Heat issues or HBM degradation? I think the symptoms are pointing towards the HBM but I want to give it a fair chance. Most of instances where people experienced it was due to OC but I've never done that with mine so I'm hoping it's not.

HBM.

He's not the most tech savvy guy I know. We take the pee out of him because yeah, if he can do something we can do it with our eyes closed. But that thing left us all bloody stumped. One minute he's playing PUBG with us, next he vanishes and his character takes off running so we need to pull a car up to stop him.

I just watched a video on RandomgaminginHD and he bought a 7 and said that every one is telling him it's a ticking time bomb.

550 watts of dust blasting power, Generally well established company and decent price too, Now cleaning the rig will be a little easier :)

I have the X552 version of it, same company just older model and it's awesome!!

Be careful as it can damage stuff very easily, but also get's warm as well.

Mine has a little air filter on the bottom, so just keep an eye on that and you will be golden.

It's loud though, so don't use it early in the morning unless you don't like your neighbours :D

Given how hard the VII is clocked I'm not surprised.

Welp, certainly gave my Vega the kiss of death today. Screens blacked out while I was on my PC again today, I proceeded to shut it down then start it back up, but, alas no life, at all. Tried in another PC and got a VGA error code during POST, so it's officially gone. Cancelled the thermal pads order and now got an MSI RX 6750XT Gaming X Trio on the way instead.

Aww man that sucks :(

6750 is a great card though and should run way cooler too.
Aye it sucks, but still, it held out during the mining craze so at least I got a new one at a—relatively—decent price: £469.

Just gutted because I wanted to keep it to one side as it's unique with the HBM. I mean, I still could, not decided yet.

still got a couple things to do update bios , try some cable management cos it is a nightmare , the cooler fan would not even fit over the ram and i chose one that was meant to be bang on grrrr

I'm ready for it ^_^

For fans I have blutack to stop the fans from turning, Just put a little either side of a blade and hey presto they won't turn.

I mainly got it to clean the radiator of my AIO and the fin stack on the GPU as both are impossible to clean with a simple brush, This will hopefully blow all the crap out.

When you say damage though what type of damage and how out of curiosity ?

What motherboard, cooler and memory are you using?…

Yeah worth holding onto mate. I no longer sell GPUs. At all. Because you never know what's around the corner in life and mining will boom again. If I didn't game so much and it wasn't so social for me (because I do it with IRL friends so it's much more fun in banter) I wouldn't mind so much.

But I hoard now. Two 2080tis, a 6700XT* and a 6800XT.

* Is my most pleasing GPU buy ever. £350 or so and I can't believe how good it is and how well it performs at that price point.

By Damage I mean, hold the blades of the fan because even with Blutack and tape they will still spin if you put it on max speed :o

It can also if you are not careful and pre-dust the rad's, it can blow stuff through them and damage the fins.

When I used it in my previous case, I forgot about a screw that had dropped and I couldn't get to it, this thing sent it flying and damn near broke the glass on the side panel, it chipped it!!

Maybe they have toned it down a bit since the model I have but yeah just be careful.

Gigabyte B660I Aorus PRO DDR4, Intel B660 -- this is a pretty decent one but the way the headers are situated on it it is like they went out of their way to make a build as hard as possible

https://i.imgur.com/QxRxlUl.png B660I

there is three 4 pin fan headers on it and only one is standard size the other 2 are mini and need small adapters to hook up the other fans -- https://i.imgur.com/LV4HKR0.png

Noctua NH-U12S 120x120 mm --- cooler

G.Skill Trident Z RGB Series, DDR4-3200, --- i reckon if i take of the rubber corners on the cooler fan it might.... might slip down the 4mm needed to sit behind the ram

dont know why the quote tab isnt working this is a reply to Dawelio : What motherboard, cooler and memory are you using?…
