Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

I hate you, Warchild :D you're a bad influence :D

I joke of course. However, your nagging about the colour of the stand did get me thinking. The matching drawers for it are on the back wall, opposite where it is. So what if I could slipstream it into the flat without it being a pain. Then the idea hit me. I am still yet to buy a pedestal to get my gaming PC off the ground. Not only that, but I have two kitchen chairs I have never once even put my arse on just eating up space. I also have a server, with nowhere for it to go. And my PC junk of course.

rDLIvhv.jpg

So what if I sold/chucked out the chairs and put the TV unit there? well, I could have the gaming PC up on it at the left hand end (where it is now only higher and reachable) and the server on the same top. I could then put all of the crap you see there in the actual Fing drawers lol.

So I began looking at AV cabinets. 90% of them are too low. Like, way too low. I don't want to be looking down at my TV. In the end I found exactly what I need from multiple perspectives. Firstly it is much wider than what I have, and will fit. It's also around the same height (3cm lower, but that will allow me to have the TV on it "straight" and not off to one side. Because I can then move it right by 3cm more. It also has the critical element. There are 3 cabinet doors. One can be fixed in place, allowing it to be a baffle for the speaker. So basically I just fix that door in place, and cut the speaker into it.

Oh and it may also have a built in wireless charging coil, RGB and a IR blaster.

And no, it is not black. I don't want black. I do enough cleaning as it is. Plus? the colourway is perfect for me to be able to cut the white speaker into the centre door without having to even pick up a paint brush or spray can.

I need to contact the company about delivery (because I am up stairs) but I will order it within the week.

Right, paid up for the stand. It is being delivered Monday. IDK how I managed to do this, and I am sure I will pay for it tomorrow.

Erm, during? lmao.

I knew I would use those chairs one day :D Even the bedroom got an upgrade. Just need a splitter for the sub in there to run.

 tossing and turning thinking about it huh see a pair of chairs will do nicely for now AA
good looking stand and if you can pull of putting the center where you said it look gona don

It's doors mate. MDF doors with big sod off kitchen hinges.

That's why it has a infra red blaster in there, so you can put all your boxes in it and still be able to control them.

So literally all I have to do is cut the speaker into the middle door, mount it, and bracket it internally closd.

Nicely done! Although that front on that case is horrible. The airflow restriction on that case is amazing.

Nah it's not dude ;)

It has huge breather holes down the side, and the front is spaced. Because it's smoked it's hard to see that, but trust me it's an illusion. I suppose that is what you get when you spend £400+ on a case.

Dude the water cooling bug has almost no drawbacks. Kinda like being bitten by a wandering spider*. You get a raging boner for hours.

*not sure about what else happens, they had me at raging boner.

That's glorious, BTW.

Been a expensive month ffs. TV cabinet arrived broken, then the replacement panels they sent were incorrect ffs. The final one is coming today.

I bought a pair of horns. Not going to use both, just one.

Bought a shell for my screen so I can access the AV menus.

New glasses.

The horn goes in here.

Ignore how that looks ATM. It is being bodyworked and painted white.

I needed a new GPU, as my dodgy 2080ti can no longer handle PUBG even with the VRAM down 500mhz. Got a 6700XT Strix for £350. Stoked with that.

And this so I can convert my 2080Ti KP into the loop where the dodgy 2080ti currently lives.

I must be getting old. CBA peeing around with water cooling any more.

Am going to retire this.

And have bought this. Got the PCIE gen 4 one too.

Will be using my existing hardware, with the new 6700xt. Full sized PSU though, so I got this too.

As much as water cooling is better and looks nice AIO is fit and forget until it breaks.

update:

Spotted the corsair virtuoso on sale shame it's only the pearl verison on sale but it's a heafty saving so picked that up off amazon they even give you 33% off xbox game pass 3 months so really not a bad deal :)

OK so I did this a few days back. Marked.

Chopped them in. Now do note - the horn is coming out again to be bodyworked and painted white. At the end I will have filled in all but four of the mounting holes (aside two at each end).

It doesn't even have the compression driver in it atm, it is just an empty body. During testing of this I realised some resonance was going into the door it is mounted in. So, I covered the entire back side with mute mat. I then assembled the cabinet once the top that works arrived.

In that pic I have mounted the crossover, and reinforced the back for speaker terminals and had begun wiring. I then sound proofed the inside.

I then went around the back side.

RGB has been fitted, network cable with socket has been fitted (for the Fire Cube to be wired).

Many, many hours later.

The Sonus Faber speakers (lower down) are going to the rear. Also to fix. The middle door is bolted closed. However, no amount of tweaking the hinges could get it to go any more to the left. So, when I fit the final tweeter horn once it has been painted I am going to remove the hinges, shim it to get it at the correct height and then fit brackets to the left side too so I can centre it before bolting it closed completely.

Other than that I am stoked with it. It sits much further back too, so has opened up the room a lot.

Will be doing the horn next week.

it looks great dude i really like it so clean and modern, changes the whole room i might throw up some led stripes round the back of my benches as well lol

well done

I thought it was just the LED lighting they add on the back of Tvs now. Philips have it where it immitates the colour of the screen.

Yup. It's an ambilight TV. It has RGB LEDs top and both sides and they change colours to the edges of the display. And tbh it's not a gimmick because it totally reduces eye strain.

The cabinet does have RGB but it's not on in that pic.

Off to mum's in an hour or so and hopefully will be able to paint and fill the horn body.

Abmilight is a game changer imo. I use a hyperHDR setup with LEDs around all edges. Under $200 and works so well, but it's definitely not turnkey. It uses individual LEDs instead of zones like a philips setup so it's way more accurate. One of the coolest effects was an episode of the Witcher. They were in a dark area with a lit torch and the torch touched the edge of the screen. The wall started flickering as if there was really fire there. Not only does it reduce eye strain, it also makes the TV feel so much larger than it is.

TBH I hadn't even heard of it. I was just down for buying bigger than my old one, so settled in on a 75". It then came up in a price match, and I got it for £750.

It was only then that I read up about it, as tbh it was all of the other specs I was concentrating on. Thought "Hmm that is getting turned off" but man it's excellent.

I think the best thing I have seen on it so far is the new Ghostbusters. Love how it makes it look like the lamp here is behind my TV :D

But it was later in the movie when the light starts going nuts and etc that it really just exploded. Very, very cool tbh.

the ones that give out the best tv back light and it mimics the screen are the govee tv backlights they are brilliant even got a phone app ... only nitpicky thing is you attach a camera to the top of the tv , i reckon you would get used to it in no time and will not even notice it when a film is on

these are the ones i was wanting to get and now they got a 2.0

Id sooner buy a Philips TV with Ambilight and do away with extra cameras and leds, and just let the App within the TV do the same thing.
