New server is getting closer to being finished.
Got the replacement Ethernet card 2x 1GB & 2x 10GB ports for the server a while ago and 1100w PSU's for it recently but the hdd's was the whole hold up.
Took delivery of 20x 2TB 2nd hand SAS drives the other day, 15 of them have joined my 9x 4TB drives in the Netapp unit.
Got 5 of the 2TB drives sat for spares at the moment, and not using the Dell/EMC Disk Shelf yet but plans are to replace the drives in the Netapp unit and then as I do, put the drive that came out in to the Dell/EMC unit, may even put the drives out of my old server in it once I make it redundant.
Server is a Dell R720 with 2x Intel E5 2660 V2's, 24x 4Gb DDR3 1333Mhz (96Gb), nVidia Quadro P2000.
Running Unraid which I finally got setup yesterday and left it dealing with creating the "Parity" data, but I made a mistake and didn't notice till this morning.
I set a Samsung 1TB SSD as the Cache drive instead of the 2TB Samsung SSD, so now it's doing a "Parity" check which is going to take another 20 hours or so.
Once everything is settled and I am happy with it, I can then start looking to transfer data from my old server, setting up Nextcloud or something like it as my brother is going to be sending photo's of car's that he is working on, since another scumbag has decided to pull a fast one, so all car's are now going to be fully photographed before he touches them.
Still got a few things to do, and one thing I will be doing is swapping the whole network to Fibre which is going to be a lot of fun!
