Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Had a choice of a upgrade for my pc:

Either save some extra cash up and add it to the gift and do the cpu, ram, mobo and cooler or use what I was gifted and get a something I have needed for a quite a while.

I chose the better option and got a new monitor.

Acer Predator Z321QU

Gave my dad my Asus PB287Q as he needed a 2nd monitor but I am finally on the high refresh rate train and it feels GOOOOOOOOD :D

Nice one, welcome to the high refresh rate club! :) One question though, how are you finding the curve, on the monitor? Since I assume you had a flat one previously and that it doesn't look like an ultrawide monitor.

I'm liking the curve.

All my previous monitors have been flat panels, and when looking for a monitor I wanted something with G-Sync, 1440p, 144Hz and over 30" in size, wasn't bothered if it was curved or not.

I was looking at all different monitors but none of them tickled my fancy other than an Asus one and given my history with Asus and there products I just instantly said "not a chance" and went with the Acer.

Thankfully there are no dead pixels and the 165hz overclock seems to be perfectly fine as well :)

Played a single Solo game on PUBG and normally what I found was I would run in to someone in the same building and it didn't matter what I had or what they had, I would loose the fight almost 99% of the times, today though ran in to someone in a warehouse and managed to win the fight, then sniping later in the game it just felt so crisp it was glorius.

Played some Destiny 2 and it looks and feels amazing.

Going to try some more games over the next few days but so far, I am shaking my head asking myself the age old question "Why did I not do this sooner?"

And a beautiful picture of my guitar in there :D

Not to be that guy (and apologies if this is against any rule to post other Youtuber's videos. In that case, feel free to edit or delete this post), but GN just did a video comparison basically saying that 3800X is a waste of money over the 3700X:

I've been on the fence since before I ordered the 3800X as to whether or not I "need" the 3900X. I really don't need it, but I sent the 3800X back anyway. Now I just have to wait for the 3900X to be in stock again.

Out of interest, what's made you personally decide to go with a 3900X instead of a 3800X?

Sitting and waiting for the Impact board to be released. If the board would have been at launch, I'd already have the 3800X up and running. Idle hands....

Due to Corsair screwing up my K95 which is 5 years old now decided to update and this was the best I could find here for the money

Got a few new toys for my 2nd PC setup. Logitech G502 Hero mouse and a huge Corsair keyboard / mouse mat:

Also picked up some new (and AWESOME) Fractal Design Prisma 140mm PWM RGB fans. These things are genius (and expensive):

The genius part is the daisy-chain RGB cable, so I can just daisy all 3 fans straight to the 5v ARGB header on my CH7 Hero. No extra software, no extra hardware, out of the box integration with the rest of the rig. Plus over 2mm/H2O static pressure, and VERY quiet.

Loving these things!!

I didn't even know Fractal had RGB fans lol
Is the daisy chain built into the fan or is it an add on?
They look nice and can't help but notice that the distance between the blades and the frame is pretty small. That's the reason for a high static pressure.

Neither did I, they just popped up in the local nerd store inventory. The daisy chain is built in, each fan has a chainable RGB cable with both male and female heads.

A Fuji X-E3 to use when the D810 is too big/heavy or when I want a digital backup when using medium format film.

Bought a Ryzen Bundle upgrade to replace my 4790K . Ryzen 5 3600, Rog Strix B450-F motherboard and 16gb DDR4 3200mhz ram. They already updated the bios and fitted the cpu and ram although i'll remove the cooler and sort my loop out as I bought the AM4 bracket for my waterblock. Bundle cost £380 which I thought was a good deal

The Chemical Guys Wrap detailer. After one application it made a difference in how my car's vinyl wrap looks after damage from a 5,200 mile/8368 km round trip a couple of months ago, including a dust storm in New Mexico.
