Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

I have that case myself Alien, and I love it, my 5950X runs at 44c in a 25c room with the fans turning at 795rpm and my S360 at 1300rpm on the desktop and gets to about 70c under full gaming loads, also it was really easy to build in, so I'm super keen to hear your thoughts on it.

Oh nice one dude. I never knew that !

It’s due today with DPD apparently.

I got this.

OK so coming back to ya.

I like it. I don't love it, but I do like it a lot. I think once the pains of it have subsided I will love it.

Firstly, it is a bit of a wayne to work on. The PSU shroud is nearly impossible to remove, and gets stuck as you try. As such I only did that once, but in hindsight I shouldn't have done it at all. Next up - the plastic end piece of the shroud. It's ghey. It is plastic, and could have just been a clip in part. Instead they decided to put tons of screws in it *and* clips. Why? as such I snapped it trying to remove it. Mostly because of this.

Qzz4bHe.jpg

IE there is no proper manual with it, nor is there any indication of where those screws are in said "maual" even if you do pee around using your phone as the manual they could have easily printed. That cost saving seems to have gone into far too many steel plates. I get the angled one ('cause it looks nice) and I get the fan come rad one, and I even get the flat EATX one but why the plain metal one? surely the angled one would have surficed?

The build quality is so so. I mean, it is steel. The screw package is a bit insulting really, especially at this price given it is all mostly steel and plastic.

Let's compare it to a case that is made solely from alu and glass, for the same RRP, that comes with this.

JPNvsBy.png

THAT is how a case this expensive is done. Instead they give you several random baggies with screws in that are not even the same, just a half arsed "mixture". Meaning you have to pee around finding the right ones every time you want to fit something.

BTW going back to the plastic shroud. It's here in this pic.

7qFEz3o.png

Even if I wanted to use it (and I don't because it is now broken) I can't. They only added enough depth to support either a rad or internal fans (why would you go with the latter? why would you have fans on fans?) so it doesn't fit regardless of being broken. I would rather have seen a solid end cover for the steel one. A removable end cover. So basically if you want to fit drives in the slots below the plastic one? you need to seriously limit your cooling potential.

The rest? yeah I am very impressed. I love the screen, it is definitely the highlight of the show, and when the build is actually complete? yeah I guess I will be more than happy.

As for the fans? I count.... around 17, counting the one on the GPU, motherboard and the two I added.

What "someone" failed to realise is the laws of acoustics. Example.

One subwoofer is (assumed) capable of outputting 130 decibels. You add a second? you will only gain around 10db. Add a third? you add even less than the 10db from adding two, and so on. Each time you add another sound source it only bumps up the overall DB but an increasingly smaller amount.

Now as for whether it is "dumb" to have this many fans? TBH I don't care, and I have no choice. It WOULD BE DUMB to add two radiators in a case with no fresh air coming in.

It would be equally as dumb to have two radiators bringing air in through those radiators and then dumping all of that heat into the rest of your PC with no way to bring any cool air in. It was pointed out that I am a bit older than some here? yes, yes I am. And that means I have A LOT of experience. There is a reason why I just spent all of this money, and it was NOT down to wanting to.

"How many RGBs would you like sir?"

"Yes"

I have made stickers for the ugly side of the fans that bring the cool air in, I just need to do the front, fit the parts that are not here yet and button it all back up. RGB and fan controls without having to have a virus on your PC. There is something immensely satisfying about that.

Well mate I hope you do enjoy it eventually, I like you am older and have had a lot of cases over the years and to date for me anyway, this is the best I've had, sure it's not perfect but what is in life?
And mate gotta agree with you strongly about their KaKa manual, I know someone at MSI Australia whom I told them to pass on to their bosses that their manual was garbage and I guess they didn't listen judging from what you're saying, which is rather disappointing, as I bent the heck out of the HDD tray trying to move it as there were no instructions on how to move it to fit the PSU, 16 screws later and I got it sorted............
Anyway your build looks nice and it looks like the case fulfilled your needs!

I will like it a lot more when I have made the cap for the end of the PSU shroud. :D

I broke my carbide 0.8mm 1/8 shank bit recently. Was a sad day, as it was exceptional. So I bought a bugger load more :D

I was then very pleased to find an SVG of the Toxic logo on Asetek's website. More companies need to do this.

As such.

Two strip downs and rebuilds later. We have gotten hardly anywhere :D

I need to machine that cover. Tomorrow hopefully, then I can button it up and fit the side panel.

Phanteks Neons all round. I never use anything else.

There are four of those. I then have a solid alu light bar on the PSU shroud I had in my ITX rig, again neon (so heavily diffused)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09QMDQ4W7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

But aye, for the most part they are Phanteks neons as above. They used to be about £40 a pair too, but the price has plummeted recently which is super awesome.

I like lighting, I don't like seeing all of the bulbs and being flash blinded by them lol.

Bought this. It has had a small spill in, and the RGB is no longer working correctly.

Doesn't matter any, as it will be coming apart. Going to replace all of the switches.

So many things!

2x Crucial P3 Plus 2TB NVME SSD's for my Unraid server to replace the last 3x 2.5" SSD's in it.

Another 10x Seagate 6TB SAS3 HDD's of eBay snagged this bunch for just £203!!
This will take my main Unraid server to over 100TB of storage space :o

2x iiyama G-Master Red Eagle 34" Ultrawide Monitors, to replace my Hisense 55" TV and 27" 1080p monitor.

Arctic Z2 Pro Gen3 Monitor Arm, just hoping these monitors fit properly, it say's it will support 2x 35" Ultrawide monitors but you never know!

Then as I am rebuilding my Discord PC, that is also used for occasionally running Destiny 2 and others.

MSI MPG GUNGNIR 111R Case

MSI MAG A750GL PSU

Deepcool LE520 Cooler

Battery powered Dremel, proper Dremel not a cheap knock off which yes can be good but I prefer to try to buy proper brands when possible.

Desk Vice

450 Piece set for the Dremel which has all different cutting discs etc.

That is required for the PCI-E to NVME adaptors for the Unraid server as they are not ventilated PCI-E brackets so I am going to cut them to make them ventilated!

This is on top of the recently purchased

MSI B550-A Pro motherboard
AMD 5700x
Asus RTX 4060, the place I purchased from only had Asus otherwise it would have been MSI or Gigabyte.

Hitachi DVD-RW Drive, an internal one as well as I need to rip some CD's and I need a stable drive to do it with and USB drives are not always stable.

I already have 16Gb of ram in the PC that is currently being used for Discord etc and I have 8Gb sat in a draw that I can replace it with, so the 16Gb kit can go in the new PC

I also have a 1TB Lexar NVME drive for the new PC, long story short that is the main reason the PC is being rebuilt now and not later.

Also have a 1TB 2.5" SSD for it, with possibly some other SSD's going in to it.

iPhone 14 in Purple with a Folding case, Charger brick and lead for my Mum to replace her old Huawei phone, it's on Contract so no initial outlay but I don't mind paying the contract for my Mum, she is worth it.

New set of Granite pans for my Mum as well as a new set of Kitchen Knives

So that is just the "House Stuff"

Now I am waiting for my brother to price it up but I already know I am looking at £1.7k for the parts alone if I have to pay retail, thankfully my brother has his own garage so I should get them discounted, then family price for the work.

New Brakes all round for my car, front and rear, both disc's and pad's
Wear sensors for the brakes
Oil, Air, Fuel, Pollen filters
Oil Obviously
Battery

Will post pictures once everything is built and installed, because oh my it's going to be a busy couple of weeks!

It wasn't plugged in correctly judging by the pictures he posted, It needs to be completely flush on all sides and it looks like the underneath was out by a tiny amount.

He removed the card several times and didn't make sure it was flush so it's user error as per usual.

Pictures? What pictures? I only see the one picture of it being burned on top of the GPU itself...

If you go onto the actual reddit post there are more pictures on the original posters account, They look exactly the many I've already seen i.e connector not flush all the way around.

Not his fault though, It's a poorly designed connector, You shouldn't have to inspect it like Sherlock Holmes when plugging in, IMO they should've left it at 3 x 8-pins.

And for my keyboard project.

I hate reds. Seriously, they are like, schizophrenic. In PUBG there is nothing worse than letting off a shot without wanting to. It scares you half to death. And reds are terrible for being pressed accidentally.

I recently bought a small board for my away PC. It has flamingo switches, and I instantly fell in love. So I did some research and it seems that they have a much higher actuation force than reds. 47g to be precise. Well I would actually like even more, so I got these.

6ppYHKq.jpg

50g. I realised that I grew up on rubber dome switches, which have a ridiculous actuation force. As such I tend to be heavy handed, so stupid light switches are the enemy.

They are so smexy I might even get clear key caps. We will see.....

Or atleast make it the size of 2 to 3 8 pin connectors. Why even have it such a tiny connector, that's capable of pulling more power than 3 single larger connectors combined? Kinda sounds like a failure ready to happen to me...
