Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Yea Asus make decent stuff at times but not always, it's the price mark they demand that i can not abide by. I doubt very much i'd ever buy a mobo even from sapphire some things when companies branch out they are just not able to make something decent bit like corsair at times if it's new to a company then it's generally overpriced oem with a label.

Motherboards are way higher now, I'd say next time around 2-300 but not ever going to see me spend 1200 on one.

I'm fine with just cooling the CPU myself just not had the itch that many have to go full custom WC loop simple £50 vs idk how much to do a whole loop but can get very expensive depending on choice of blocks and fittings.

I can't see myself buying an aio wc gpu for the simple fact if it has any issue your somewhat stuck with repairs so if i ever went wc gpu then it would be a custom loop.

Also tbh as large as my 750D is it's very filled and having a loop in my case isn't as simple as it seems with what i have in there, just not really a viable case for how i use it and full loop.

I'll stick to sapphire and if they ever have a low moment then xfx but i expect more brands will get more invested into AMD more so than now as sapphire and xfx were at one stage one of the few AMD had and the cards were more basic bit like the mobos but over the last 10 years it's like Intel and nvidia don't really have the advantage in the quality side that they once did.

Telling me that i'm pumping about 185l/h with the D5 @ 85%

Rads, blocks, fittings. TBH its a number and the max of 1500 l/hr is interesting. The number i'm looking for in reality is keeping both my RX6800 & R9 5950 under 80C at full tilt and they do that while not making a racket. If you look at the picture, you'll see that the Cuplex is reporting a lower water temp than the HighFlow by about 1C, which suggests some heat transfer going on :) - PC Mark got the Ryzen up to 71C for a couple of seconds.

So a while ago I switched back to using an iPhone for my phone due to the lack of BS app's pre-installed and also the lack of app's like "Super Sketch Paint Pro Z Edition" being installed as "Security Updates" like Samsung liked to do.

The only annoying thing about it was my Galaxy Watch 4 would not work with the iPhone either Samsung or Apple are blocking it, it's the only thing I can think off as to why a "Bluetooth/Wireless Watch" would not work, when even a cheap £30 one of Amazon would.

Anyway, the contract for my Galaxy Watch was up for renewal and I missed having a smart watch, so "Upgraded" to the iWatch Ultra 2 and it is amazing how not naked my left wrist feels now.

Only thing so far I have found is the "M/L Trail Loop" is to small to go over my fat hands easily so I have ordered a new strap and also a "Protector" for the watch.

I got a R3 pro cheap thing just cause it's rechargeable i don't do well with normal watches, but i get your point as my £20 one works just fine with my iphone and as you said iphones have very little bloat ware as things work without the need of tons of add on apps.

Still feel they are vastly overpriced maybe i'll upgrade by iphone 18.

Annoyingly the Capellix LCD addon you can get for Corsairs Capellix AIO became faulty and started flickering on and off, Got in touch with Corsair to see if I can RMA but as I got it as a gift from a friend I'm not so sure.

For the time being I had a discount code for ColdZero customs in Portugal so paid a total of £10 shipping for a custom acrylic cover.

He laser cuts the actual logo out of white acrylic, Then laser cuts the middle section that he slots it into out of clear acrylic and then the top piece is just plain clear acrylic, Then he sticks it all together with epoxy, The 4 holes for the screws are all recessed too so it's a flush surface.

Nice I like me a cheap fix !

Sadly I have not been able to come up with one just yet. Well, I sort of have lol.

I needed a new PSU for the 6900XT. I do not think a 650w will cut it. I mean, if I really wanted to risk it I am sure it could (EVGA Supernova) but I want to OC the GPU. As such it definitely will not cut it.

So the first thing to do was find a cheap PSU. I thought I had won the lottery when I saw another 850w Thor on Ebay for £80, only to realise it was collection only. Booo.

So I was happy to pay £109 on Amazon for this.

And no, it is not the splodey one I made sure to check.

https://www.tomshardware.com/review...g5-review-the-first-pcie-gen-5-compatible-psu

So I thought that was decent enough. I mean, same price as a 750w for 1000w.

Sadly I am going to need a new case. Not even two weeks after rebuilding that entire sodding rig into the PUBG one. I need one with 9 fans. So the bare minimum I will get away with is a O11D Evo. Not decided on that yet, and won't just yet. So I grabbed these for £26.

Because I have the distinct feeling whatever case I buy is going to be huge and thus the cables will not reach.

My feeling with cases now is the bigger the better unless you need to move it a lot. I even wish I had more space in mine my other option I really wanted over the 750D was the fractal define 7XL but the difference in price to what i paid was a lot, but i feel the 7XL is a do anything case in size and layout options.

I think 750w is just about passable depending on what's in the case, but i think higher is always better so that the fan never needs to switch on :)

I have yet to switch out the 2 molex to 2 sata cables it's just going to annoy me until it really annoys me lol

The 6900XT must use much closer too 400w and OC a little more as my 6800XT uses 325w at times, Least were smart enough here to not cheap out on PSU's has to be the most foolish choice in building a PC to do that.

Dang nice, that the 4080 or 4090 FE? :)

No cable issues? I assume not at all, due to ensured the cable is fully seated.

No issues, All the people who have had issues, Something around 0.1%, Didn't plug the cable in fully. You have to make sure the cable/connector are completely flush so there isn't even a 1mm gap.

Yeah it’s a 400w card. All the reviews point to that.

I’ve decided it’s either another Odyssey X in black (10% likely) O11D of sorts (5% likely) or the MSI MEG 700R (all of the other %).

Basically I’m a bit Lian Li-d out. The 700R is also cheaper than the OX and has a mental screen that covers two things I love. Firstly a proper fan controller that ignores Windows, and secondly shows the time. I usually have to keep a clock close as otherwise I game too late, get all wired and then can’t sleep.

I love my Phanteks Enthoo Pro tempered glass, its rather large.

tbh mate size does not matter. Like seriously, I am beyond caring now. Cooling matters. You can NOT build a beast PC in a small case. IDGAF what people do on Youtube because they are not honest about it and don't follow up with what a pig it is to live with. Like when people like Hardware Canucks put a 3950x and big ass GPU in an ITX case and say it is OK. It isn't. They don't tell you what a toss pot it is to live with.

We went in this circle once before. And, we ended up with massive cases that offered a lot of cooling. So yeah, HEDT is no longer really a thing unless you go TR (which is now insanely priced) but common desktop chips have replaced the HEDT. Like for example my 12700KF. 12 cores. That *is* a HEDT. It is 6 more than you need. That is literally it. Because of competition? the HEDT has vanished and been replaced with something affordable. But that does not mean it doesn't need serious cooling. I mean a 400W GPU? LOL. Makes the GTX 480 look pretty lame. Yet here people are stuffing them into cases that have no place having those parts in.

Even my 6700XT Strix, which is the best 6700XT with the best cooler on it whirred like crazy in the tiny case I had it in. Totally defeating the point.

I have found this. And tbh? I kinda like it.

Sadly like 99% of other cases they saved about 5p in metal and made it so that it won't hold two AIOs.

3ohyom8.jpg

But. It is so cheap (£85) that I reckon it may be viable. Mostly because I would drill out the rivets for the top, cut three pieces of metal strip, paint them black, and then just rivet it all back together with 40mm added in height. Now obviously at this point the glass would no longer work, but I couldn't care. A piece of 5mm cast clear acrylic would cost me about £20.

Meaning even with the cutting disks I would be looking at around £120.

Sod it going to spend more. Really cba with another project right now.

I like the NZXT H9 flow too, though I’m kinda put off. My mate has one and his PSU overheats due to the mesh holes not being big enough.

I think I’m going to get the MSI. Sod it, I saved a ton on the rest so why not.

Yeah, supports up to 10 fans that most will be irrelevant due to diminishing returns lol.

It's not so much about the amount. The last time I fitted two AIOs to a "regular" case it left nowhere to bring air in in any real amount, apart from the rear exhaust fan flipped. That is one 120mm fan serving 6 others. Not ideal not even close.

TBH if a case had two 120s for intake to feed the two 360 AIO? that would be enough. The problem, as always, is that they deliberately save 50 cents on the case by making one set of those not support an AIO. Like, if you fit an AIO you can not put any fans on it as it fouls the board. Even in the NZXT PUBG case I am using now (well not, I took out the 6700XT so it is in bits) you can fit an AIO with fans on, but you have to use the wrong mounts and it literally touches low profile RAM.

I mean really, if it were 10mm bigger? that would not be a problem at all. It's just cost cutting for the sake of nickles and dimes, and renders a case not useable (like the one I have posted). 10-15mm more height? you could fit a rad both top and bottom with intakes.

This is not limited to cheap ass cases either. It is rife on big expensive ones too. Which was my point when I said that I truly don't care about how big it is, I just want it to be able to stop my hardware from cooking itself.

Talking of which... I will be using an ITX board. Because, well, I have it. And it is fine. As such because of said two AIOs it won't be getting much air. So I got this for £16. Finally a memory come board cooler that doesn't use a janky mounting system.

And two triple packs of these for £12 a go.

Because why not.
