Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Guilty as charged, RGB just isn't my thing, I'm a performance over prettiness type of person; the TUF cooler itself however is an engineering work of art, it's performance is literally everything that has been said about it in reviews and then some.

I can't recommend it highly enough to be honest, under light loads I found myself checking the fan was actually operating it's that quiet.

Mhm damn... If you aren't one, maybe becoming an sales person is an possible profession for you? You surely know how to praise both products.

Confession time, I haven't put any load on my 3080 since I got it. Only mostly browsing and Youtube basically. Will have to bench my system some day to see it's worst case scenario basically.

Moar vinyls. A guilty pleasure of mine.

And Gigaton by Pearl Jam. Sick album.

I also fully sorted the turntable. Fitted the new moving coil Denon cart, bought a ice hockey practice puck and screwed the light into it, then 3m it down to the glass.

I could have used a clip on light, but the switch is on the cord. Meaning it would be lost down the back.

It's a nice stealth build that one :)

Thank you, very much appreciated Dude :)

God forbid, no I'm not one of those lol.

I've been told I have an analytical mindset and confess I will pre-plan builds and research components thoroughly before pulling the trigger; you can call that part of my PC OCD :D

The cooler on the TUF series 3xxx though is widely acknowledged to be one of the best on the market, normally I would feel the need to mess about with a GPU's fan curve; not on this occasion, it's perfect out of the box.

So after a week of windows 11 I actually ended up liking it, thou i have customised it a fair amount, the main bonus is auto hdr I really like how it works and works well. Didn't have any issues with drivers it seemed until a friend tried calling me, yep the trusty old logitech c510 no matter what i do just straight up won't work, so after 4 hours of trying everything on mass and coming up empty and nothing but a black screen. I ended up going for the NexiGo N660P meant to be pretty decent 1080p 60fps and ok otherwise so actually seems better than the logitech c922x I was debating over and cheaper.

Plus a few other bits, the duct tape is to strap down my oversized mouse mat as it's curled up at the front and i've had enough of it LUL

Also this as a keepsake, i might open it, but the price on the zelda one has dropped a little the mario one is still at msrp atm, the zelda one thou snapped it up for £34.49 :D has the first 3 games and a nice looking clock animation :) A fair few years ago I had an original zelda game and watch but the price was so high i sold it this one is colour and far far cheaper :P

My great niece is named Zelda she will get this in 17 years on her 18th she's too young to have it yet LUL

I like Win 11. The dark scheme is amazing. When I come over to my Win 10 machine it makes my eyes hurt. I will put it on the other machine soon.

I totally forgot to order brake cables for the new brakes. So I ordered a kit.

Win 11 is even better once you get rid of the start menu make the taskbar smaller tiny icons, with docks and soon got rid of all the yucky yellow folders, much more to my liking now :)

Couldn't find an app to stack icons like a card deck, but ended up having some custom folders and linking shortcuts to be able to pin them to the task bar, on the whole the one thing that really annoys me is the right click on folders having to click show more options really annoying.

New webcam is almost pro grade rather unexpected results :)

I dont get why there was so much hate for Win 11. I have loved it from the start. It does still need a small tweak or two for HDR, but I found one fix for this ever annoying washed out colour. Reducing to 444 instead of Full RGB still gives you the benefit of beautiful HDR and no more white wash. It shows as it should be.

I honestly cant tell the difference with full RGB and 444 now when on a HDR 1000 screen.

Hardly used it on my laptop(I keep my PC behind to avoid and windows update catastrophies) and after going in the settings and changing the taskbar back to it's original left position, it's basically windows 10. It seemed like a simple UI change more than anything but obviously there's a lot under the hood different.

I don't see why people hate it. Though I've only used it for a couple hours doing browsing and messing around the system settings.

You can make the taskbar icons much smaller with a simple regedit, you'd have to google but it's much better if you have a lot of icons like i do.

Overall it's not as bad as i was expecting and going forward is fine.

I'll take a look at the hdr more but so far it's been good for me.

You mean like this ?

It's the same with every new OS, You always get the people who moan for the sake of moaning, Personally I jump on the newest as soon as possible as I love playing around but W11 has been exceptionally stable for me and everything just works.

Finally, a modicum of reason.

I mentioned a long time ago (at launch) that this card would be ideal for me.

I can't run an air cooled card in the rig I want to put it in, and I don't want to pay £750 for a 3080 and then £250 to cool it. I can't get the Toxic, as it uses a 360 rad. My case has a 280 or 240 mount in the front, and the top is taken by a 360 AIO for the CPU.

Scored it on OCUK for £728. Ex demo, display whatever. At that price? more than happy.

Nice you should get good OC value out of that i'd expect 2600mhz+ to be easy.

I did run into my first driver issue the other week had to revert from the newest drivers as my Yuzu EMU didn't work right due to something in the newest drivers causing issues with the valkan renderer.

That said you will end up liking the card suprised you plumped for one after our chats, but i do hope you have as little issues as i've had and can enjoy it man :)

Literally got it for PUBG. I don't use the PC at home for anything else tbh. It's good enough in UE to be worth that price too, being the premium model.

I think it will literally just be find a driver that works in PUBG, leave it the hell alone. PUBG can be awful if you keep downloading the latest driver. I haven't changed my drivers for 6 months at least.

It's funny because had it been any other card at any price I would not have bought anything. Even the 6900XT Toxic that was on there for £899. Great price, but literally wouldn't fit my rig and I am not changing out the case because I love it.

Thing is while WC is nice these card don't get hot even when fully overclocked don't think i've ever seen mine past 70C and that was at 2650mhz in port royal. They are just way better at power effiency in general than any card i've ever owned.

I'd say any good brand that has a nicer cooler is perfectly fine on the current amd cards and the fans rarely spin up unless doing raytracing, while not as good as nvidia at that task at all others they are fine and really are still playable either way.

Them Intel cards thou oof the drivers need a lot more work than i was expecting, 32fps at 1440p in assassins creed valhalla is horrid even my system gets well over 100fps.

The toxic card while having a 360rad is the top card of them all most often sapphire cards are they are after all the longest running amd 1st party brand.

Good prices atm thou the new crop are going to double the performance so they are dropping fast atm, but you still got it at a fair price just a shame these cards werent that price over a year ago.

I hate air cooled cards. With a passion.

They either make lots of noise, or they run too hot. I have had three air cooled cards fail over the years, and not one ever fail under water. For the reason they run at half the temps of air with 0 noise.

I don't do it for anything other than protecting my investment and keeping my sanity. The stock fans will go, replaced with my 4 1200 RPM Eloop in push pull, like the Kingpin has on it now.

And let's face it, I didn't pay £1200 for it. Or as much as £1500, which it was at one point. Even the RRP was £1099. I wouldn't pay that either.

It's a very quick card. The quickest of the bunch when benched, and, edges out the 3090 in UE. Which is what I bought it for. Literally one game.

BTW as for being surprised? you need to understand dude I don't give 0% who makes what. I have had a Vega 64 (awful) Fury X (fine until it ran out of VRAM) 7970 (too hot) etc. I don't care who makes what it is all about value. At last check the 3080 was cheaper, and much better value. At £728? this is a much better value, because you need to factor in the £200 premium it had on it at RRP and the cost of water cooling a GPU (which is a must for me, as nothing else will fit or work in my case).

As it stands? I have literally paid £528 for the GPU itself. It would cost me well over £200 for a 240 rad, res, pump, fittings, block etc.

Even all of that aside the RRP of the 6800XT is £799. 6900XT was £999 IIRC. So I have paid less than RRP, for the best model of all of them.

That is how you make your purchases, not based on rimming either company.
