I hadn't bought anything in many weeks. The PC mod and upgrade cost me money to the point I had borrowed it from my savings and I hate that feeling. So I just hunkered down and spent nothing for about 6 weeks.

I bought my mother a 10" Fire HD tablet (2021 version) on BF. With a case that was £30, as apparently that's what they cost. Came to £110. Never arrived. It was due with DPD but all radio noise turned to silence.

At which point I asked Amazon to send out a replacement. You know? at the price I had paid. And for the second time (they did this about 3 years ago) they quoted their policy. I did not have £190 so I got a refund, and I was angry because I told them the situ. Which you probably don't know but 2 months ago my mother was diagnosed with cancer and has to have an op over Xmas. I bought her the tablet for when she was in hospital so she didn't die of boredom. Their crap policy left her with nothing. I was pretty furious.

Any way, today DPD Show up 3.5 weeks after the fact and delivered it. I was still pretty mad, but decided to do the honest thing. Amazon tried to get me to return it, I said "Why can I not pay the price I paid at order?" and they said OK. Then they asked to phone me, but I said I was at my flat and mum was home isolating (the truth) and so they just said "You can have the refund and the tablet etc, merry Christmas and stay safe".

Mum was thrilled. So, the money I've kinda been stashing is now piling up so I decided to take care of a problem.

I have a set of BD T5P. I got them for £350 about four, maybe even five years ago. Best set of closed backs I've ever had. For the obvious reason that at RRP they are a grand. The problem is they use that super soft fake leather and after a number of years it starts to fail. Which results in black crap being dumped down your ear canals and all over your head and shoulders. Which ends up on the carpet and sets off my OCD alarm and drives me freaking nuts. It doesn't vacuum up, so you have to crawl around picking it up piece by piece.

The fix for this is not simple or cheap either, it will cost me £100 and involve piddling around with fiddly crap. And I am not in the mood. So, I decided to go look for some temporary replacements until I can be assed to spend £100 and then piddle with it. I would have prolly gone for it, but I had the same sorta deal with my Grados this time last year and it was a PITA. One driver died, had to pull them apart and etc.

Thought about going mad, but soon realised nothing under £1000 would sound like the T5P. I know this from experience. Had I known how a £500 set of Grado and £1000 set of BDs sound and what a giant leap they are over anything else I would not have bothered buying any of the numerous pairs I had that I have now gotten rid of.

These turned up at £269 inc ex demo from a hifi shop so I grabbed them.

RRP is £699. And now if either pair need repairs etc I will have a spare pair to stand in, which I don't have given I sold/gave away all of the others.

I don't have the ability to fix this with a machine polisher, don't even own a decent one and not looking to spend £300 on chancing my arm only to probably damage it worse.

Tried to resize the pic's but it just messes them up.

There are other issues, just need to find someone if it can be done via a machine polisher to actually do it but not till November as I am away for a week from the 23rd with the car.

Will look though in a "Detailer" for when I get back and see what they can do.

thats toast my friend, clear coat is broken threw.

rule of thumb is if you lick your finger and then wipe over the scratch mark with it and it goes away then it will polish out and if not its a repaint job.

the bumper could be painted easy enough and anything else could be painted and blended in so no need for a full respray

sounds lovely

only thing is the therapy and anxiety they put me through cos more than the speakers and amp

the guy installing the svs speakers he dropped one of them it hit the tv hit the other speaker and bounced of the floor ....

then he thought he would just pick it up and carry one like nothing happened

my hair grew back and fell out again the amount of anxiety it gave me i was thinking the tv is done for lucky nothing of notice as yet that was my main concern

told him no chance that is going back on the wall, he reckoned it was ok after 20 min of back and forth i took out a battery tested it and what do you know the driver was bust ... grabbed it of him and said now go bring me another one sealed in the box

done my head in

from up there he dropped it - https://imgur.com/jxqk5pn

now whats left is to sit design a simple tv /media stand to sit everything on together

Yeah if you drop a speaker the first thing that usually happens is all of the shock goes into the woofer, and the pole pierce shifts and sticks to the magnet, jamming the coil. The only woofer I have seen survive that was one that had four bolts holding the pierce in. Usually they are glued or welded. That said it didn't save it, as the basket cracked.

Now you can sorta understand how I felt lugging my Revel M5s up 6 flights of stairs. They were £1800.

Is that the Razer Huntsman Mini by any chance?…

Sorry Dawelio only just saw your comment, Yes it's the Razer Huntsman Mini I got a fair few months ago, Honestly really nice keyboard, Keys are nice and responsive due to being optical switches, Very quiet, Feel nice to type on, Cable is detachable USBC so it's easy to replace and I have mine sitting on a bit of cut to size felt material so it makes it super quiet on the desk.

On a side note after paying bills, Rent etc... I had a few quid left over so decided to splurge... with the help of the £10 Epic coupon I spent a whole fiver on Detroit Become Human ^_^

No worries, thought you ignored it initially :P… Interesting to hear your experience with it, I tried the Red switches on that keyboard, very nice keys indeed. According to reviews I saw the clicky types were a bit too loud for my taste.

How are you feeling regarding the height of the keys and no wrist wrest? I found it a bit uncomfortable, as I got a bit of fatigue in my wrist unfortunately.

I have the other two. Hunstman TE (reds) and the Elite (purples, IIRC).

I don't like their reds. Well, it's not so much their reds it just seems to be red in general. They are far, FAR too sensitive and I end up having to retype loads. For gaming though? yeah, they are excellent. Incredible response time. I just don't dig them for typing on.A bit too easy to push IMO.

The purples on the other hand? have a trigger mech like a blue. Which is much better. They are all noisy though. The reds clack when they bottom out (not sure if you could use dampers on their proprietary keys) and the purples click loud. That said all mech boards make that noise.

Also bear in mind that some of the keys need Razer's key caps. About half of the board uses stock key caps from anywhere, but some need Razer's own. Cooler master (IIRC) made some compatible caps but you cant get them any more.

I have the red switch version, I also opened it up and lined the inside with black felt to act as sound dampening, Makes a nice difference.

Height is fine, My hands hover over the keyboard so my wrists are never bent so no fatigue.

AFAIK those ones are using the 1st gen optical switches, With 2nd gen like in the Huntsman Mini they made a few noticeable upgrades.

These intended for your phone?

If I remember right, you are using a really old phone so it may not support all the codecs that make these earbuds shine.

No I'll be using it with my rig, Watching films, Listening to music etc... while I do my cardio in the morning, The sound even without the LDAC codec just using regular codecs like AAC is really damn good.

My Corsair Crystal HD120's are slowly failing, Starting to make creaking sounds, Lasted me since late 2016 when they launched being on pretty much 24/7 so not bad, Sadly Corsair don't make them anymore but thankfully Corsair do still make the ML Pro fans in white, Got 4 of them -
