Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Makes it a job then though.... :/

I have gotten a job involved with every hobby I have ever loved and it totally ruins it.

I worked at a PC shop from '98-2001 and didn't touch another PC after for five years. I worked at a speaker company and never really got back into that and so on.

Enjoy your down time man. Turning it into a job wrecks it. That is why I never got a job working on cars. I just enjoyed working on mine in my spare time and loved every minute of it.

I think it depends on how you manage it. If you work for someone else in a large establishment with only a fraction of what you love and consider a hobby as your day-to-day activities, then I imagine it'll drag you down and mire your passion. But there are loads of amp builders for instance who have successful businesses that began as a hobby and then became something more. Many of them feel grateful that they have a job that is also their hobby and passion years later. They may not be quite as enthusiastic, but you can't keep your enthusiasm for the same thing forever. It's rare for even successfully married couples to feel the passion and intensity they had in the first few years.

Manage+autism... Let me see, manage, autism.. Nope :D

It's obsessions for me man. I get obsessed with things and there is no managing them or whatever else. 100% or nothing. And I ended up hating it all haha.

Talking of passion etc? I still feel the same way about PCs and Alienwares I always have. Which is obviously far from normal but then so am I :D

BTW that whole thing about passion and couples? not to me man. Maybe other human beings (like, neuroTs) "go off the boil" but I don't. I still loved the crap out of my ex even when I threw her out and tried desperately to make it work but she was just hell bent on it ending and etc. Nothing I could do, bail. But not one day went past for me where I felt anything less than 100% toward her. She did your typical NT thing of going off of me, though. Seems I was some sort of conquest, or toy.

You know what's done it, don't you? our society. My nana and grandad had bugger all but each other. And they adored each other. You start to throw money, holidays, gadgets, expensive clothes into that stuff? it all falls down. People these days are obsessed with greed and themselves. It never used to be like that.

Give people sod all but each other and a bloody hard life and they would soon appreciate each other. We have too much, we are all spoiled and any unity among us is dying and going to heck.

Ahh, yeah, that's fair enough. I wouldn't be the type to do all or nothing, but I can understand if others are and how it can screw with things.

I wish I would get bored of it because it's expensive and not completely healthy. Thankfully the bikes are kinda coming into the mix, so hey at least that's something.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. When I get into something, I usually end up spending a lot of time and money on it. It's still not 'all or nothing' because I could ditch computers or effects pedals or films and be OK. Those things might eventually take the back seat if my life changed in any way, like if I started a family or moved away.

I totally packed in the PC gear when I met my wife. Well, when we got together (I met her in 2008 originally..) any way as time went on and she moved further away I got back into it. Screwed if I am sitting around bored whilst she indulges in her obsessions.

I actually left all my gear at my mum's. Then within two years I slowly started taking it back with me bit by bit.

Love it when people put effort into something they own....

I get 'grief' a lot asking me why I bother, I normally answer with "because I can"

I dont mean that in a financial way either, I mean that in a time and effort way

The amount of time, sweat and effort that went into getting the workshop done so that you have your sanctuary from work it's all for you. You shouldn't have to explain yourself to anyone, that's your baby you enjoy it.

Just ordered Logitechs new top end X56 H.O.T.A.S, All black colour scheme, RGB included so you can match it to your rigs colour scheme, coming in a few days, Sold my X52 Pro to a workmate :)

I can see pilots everywhere crying because no RGB :D

I like the RGB touch they gave it, Means we actually have lighting options now instead of just blue or white, I have red LED strips on the back of my monitor and desk, Mix that with the rig lights and the X56 RGB implementation and at night it would look immense :)

Right Dicey that's it I cannot resist

You have discovered my weakness :p

Disco Dice, distant relative of Disco Stu on the Simpsons. :) Nice looking HOTAS, even though the RGB is foolish.

Well the X52 Pro has green lights by default, Looks a bit odd in an all black setup with red lights, This just means you can either turn the lights off or change them to match your build.

I prefer mine without lights, since I'm anti-RGB. :D I just never understood needing all that light when you're gaming in the dark. Great looking unit though!
