Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

To go along with my shiny new 980 Ti Matrix Platinum I decided to get the 6700K and Corsair 3000MHz 32GB *4X8GB*, Just now have to wait on the Asus Maximus VIII Formula to come out in January and then I shall be selling my 4790K, Maximus VII Formula and 16GB of 2400 memory off for dirt cheap :)

Ever since the first Sabertooth with shielding and then followed by the first shielded Formula I've been in love with this type of armour design, EVGA looks good to but not to my taste :)

No problem this time around the ASUS boards aren't to my taste but TBH i'm going to miss the Z170 motherboards and wait until the next series.

I was going to do the same but then saw the new Formula and couldn't resist plus in a few games according to Digital Foundries videos there can be a significant FPS increase in games such as GTAV or The Witcher 3 in the area of 10FPS over a similarly clocked 4790K.

Is 10FPS really worth hundreds (i'm talking about in australian dollars) to me it's not if it was 20FPS then yes.

Plus a little bit of future proofing as I'll have 4 sticks of DDR4 so when I do upgrade to maybe Z270 or whatever they call it I won't have to buy new memory :)

I'm sorry but i hate this word future proofing in my book there is really no such thing.
It's like the B word

True, Memory bandwidth hasn't been a bottleneck in years, Hell even 1600 DDR3 vs DDR3 at 2666 has an amazing difference of 1FPS in games sometimes zero ^_^

Yeah maybe i jump the gun a bit when i said 2019 more likely being 2017 to 2018 when we will see DDR5 for motherboard i think.

I've been tempted but not worth it :) have more important things in the next few years, a little OC and my pc will keep up just fine for the next 3-4 years :)
