Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Indeed I will :)

To be honest I don't think a stand alone loop is needed, I know it's winter but I haven't seen this thing go above the 50'c's with an overclock of 1100/5600 and I've tested all the 3DMarks, A few games and it never goes over 58'c.

I'm guessing its because you've got a decent set of fans on the rads and not the awful fans they come with stock?

Only 1 fan blowing through the rad, Corsair SP120 Performance Edition with a white ring to compliment my black/red/white colour scheme ^_^

I meant the little fan ;)

Oh haha well the one in the middle of the GPU under idle and under load it's no louder than any of the case fans and they are all quiet edition fans but at first boot it ramps up to full speed which I'm guessing is in the area of 2000RPM but only for a few seconds before booting into Windows and then turns itself down to around 800RPM roughly and stays there mostly under load too :)

Is the rad fan a 1650RPM SP120?

JR

Nope that's the quiet editions which only has 39CFM+0.5 mm/H20, This is a full speed fan i.e the performance edition which has 62CFM+3.1 mm/H20 but the GPU fan controller has full control of the speed and even that never gets loud, All in all it's a pretty quiet card :)

It's epic when you consider how bad a single 290X is. I guess you would probably give it more rad area if you put it in a loop. The more builds I do though I think that 750RPM should be the fastest any fan needs to spin, maybe less than that. :D

Great card, legendary infact, for sub £500. I think I could work with one in the future.

TBH, while AMD arguably didn't 'win' 2014, they were by far the best option for dual GPU cards. If I wasn't constricted by space I'd love a 295x2. I nearly bought the B grade Aircooled one OCUK had for £500 but it left before I could get my hands on it :(.

You need to stop being spaces bitch and smash through such restrictions with modding and much dremel. :p Why the hell can't you have a custom loop Inwin901 with a 4770k and a 295X2 without even having an external rad! How epic would that be if you pulled it off :o

I think they did pretty good in 2014 too tbh well with GPU's at least, I mean although it's stupid loud my 290X could smack a 780 back into it's place at a significantly reduced cost.

Do you really think my case would have the space for a pump, res, 295x2, hdds and dual rads? Trust me I've spent hours working on it. The only way I could squeeze something like a 295x2 (and even vaguely competent cooling) in that case would be to redo the
entire case and somehow get an SFF PSU that'd power the beast. The main issue (apart from the aluminium bit being one piece) is there isn't enough space on the insides.

After some googling it seems someone did exactly what I wanted to do. I guess I'll shut up on whether its possible or not.

-edit- they also now do a black one with a red strip. Probably less fingerprint-y.

Wow well that is one approach! Not what I would do still leaving all of that wasted space at the back, but yeah anything is possible, it's definitely not a 'small' case.

Put your rig and £2k in cash into a big brown box and let me know where to pick it up ;)

why not some AT ADH-900x and a modmic? would have been cheaper I think

I buy something not just for the performance but the looks are also important to me, Plus the mic is attached so I don't have to fiddle around with extra wires :)

Who cares dey are smexy as! 10/10 wud bang. Cans thread needed!

JR

I shall bang it on Tuesday when it arrives, I shall be very....Audible ....
