Possibly selling main rig + monitor...

Well I've just had a chat with my financial advisor and she thinks that I may be over my head in debt at the moment.

I've been contemplating the idea of selling my main rig and monitor and replacing it with something rinky-dink just to keep me online and possibly playing a bit of CSS.

What do yall think would be a fair price for my comp? I think I could pull $1400-1500 for the monitor fairly easily, but what about the comp?

Currently installed parts tally up to approximately $3500 if bought new... Think someone would snatch it up for say $2500?

If I could pull around $2.5k for the comp, $1.5k for the monitor, and then sell my new U2-UFO Cascade for $1.5k I would have a good start at digging myself out of my debt hole.

I could then possibly sell one of my Dell's and keep the other as my "main" rig. After receiving 14 bills in the mail for all of my stuff I've realized that I can handle all of it but it doesn't leave me any extra cash to get me by for the next two weeks until payday.... No money for food, eek!

Anywho.... Yeah, what do u think I could get for my main rig?

Edit: I would say $2500 miniumum for the tower, although you might have to go as low as $2000

owch man, i am sure you could pull that but might be better off on ebay if nothing else, make it a 10 days sale thing with a reserve

sucks big time after putting all that time into that comp... you could sell it quick for 2k but you could probly get 3k(if not dents or scratches on case) personally id sell it as new on ebay.

Cant you sell your U2-UFO, sell your TFT, sell any other pc bits u have laying around, buy a more modest 19" TFT, and then pay any remaining debt off in smaller chunks?

I'd rather wipe out as much as possible in one big chunk... I can always build up a cheap comp.

Yep and the server

Hey Frag why don't you return the Dells? They'd get you a few bob back then maybe build yourself a cheaper decent rig :)

thought about it but I think I could probably sell the rigs 3rd party for more than returning them to dell considering they don't have a lick damage to them.

thinking about selling everything and getting a macbook pro core duo and dual booting xp with it.

Yeah that would be pretty sweet.

Warning though: One of my mates bought one recently

*The track-pad stopped working three times for no reason

*It burned him three times when he picked it up

*The backlight broke and he's returning it to Apple

I think that would be a good enough reason NOT to get one...

Frag, I say, sell all your rigs cept the Bench rig. Get a nice Antec case or something with maybe 2 smaller SATAII drives, RAID0 them of course, and sell the two 6800GT's and get an X1800XT 512 for $300.

Sell all the monitors too, get a nice Dell Ultrasharp 19" LCD, my dad has one, it's AMAZING and under $300. 8MS, dvi, same as ur 30" pretty much (even the nice stand) minus the enourmous size.

Good luck man. :(

Sorry to hear about this,

Nick

What i usually do when im in overdraft and my student loan runs dry is i buy one of them jumbo bags of pasta and make pasta with some crappy little sauce everyday for a while it sux but it keeps me alive... :D

Frag sold his bench rig.

Frag, build a config exactly like mine :).

Same 19" CRT, etc. A nice gig of ram, a 3200+, MSI Neo4 Plat, etc :)

FragTek, do you have any "buyers" market over there ?

its similar to ebay but with buyers instead.

Nick, if you use your own spices and add some meat those noodles can actually be quite tasty but out of the packet as most eat them they are terrible.
