I got portal in the steam Christmas sale, am slowly working my way thru it, wasn't what I expected at all, but I really like it, so just gunna pre-order portal 2

Portal was one of those games that I wouldn't have touched if it wasn't free with the Orange Box. It turned out to be one of the best games of the year when it was released. Portal 2 is supposed to be much longer and expand greatly on the storyline. Expectations are extremely high for this game, I hope it doesn't disappoint.

ButThere'sNoSenseCryingOverEveryMistake,YouJustKeepOnGoingTillYouRunOutOfCake. AndYouMakeANeatGunAndTheScienceGetsDone,ForThoseWhoAReStillAlive. <-- Only thing i like about portal

The game was so unique when I played it. The gameplay was different and the story kept me wanting to play. The song at the end was the icing on the cake. The game had so much personality and original design to it. It felt more like a game designed because the developers were having fun instead of a clone CoD type game to make millions. I hope Portal 2 has the same feel to it.

It really brought me back to about 1998-1999 when gaming wasn't so commercial.

I play games for the graphics, with the exception of Metal Slug and Geometry Wars etc

Just watched the trailer. Looks the same as crysis 2: watered down from full potential because of consoles, with failed shiney textures everywhere and no anisotropic filtering, HOWEVER it does look waay better than the origional and seems like might be bareable to play if it looks marginely pleasing (yes i loathe this game it's untrue, and yes, coz i suck at it - i can't even play as the alien in AvP coz the surface transition makes me dizzy... in other words games that make me dizzy make me suck at them)

Can't blame you there. There have been a few games that made me sick to play. Not sure what settings were being run on the trailers or if that was the console version or not. I'm sure it will look great on my system though with max settings.

It's a puzzle game for sure so I can understand why some people wouldn't like it. I was frustrated a few times during the first Portal, but it was satisfying to complete a tough level.

I had more fun playing Tinker for goodness sake.

Yeah max it out and should look sufficient ( <-- what an amazing word)

I have to agree with the cheering section, Portal really was a beautifully conceived and presented game... I was hooked from the beginning and slogged through it... multiple times. The new one looks to be even more evil with the variety of pads etc. Will probably die many times before finally lining up all the jumps and directions correctly. Hoping for even darker sense of humor to make me smile.
