Poo WEI scores?

So my main rig used to score 7.3 all the way to the SSD that scored 6.9. Then last week my SSD dropped to 6.7 and now today 5.9. Eh?

I ran an ATTO, still as good as ever.

So the other PC would only get a score of 5.5 for the memory. So, tonight, for a laugh I put in the dominator and set it to 4-4-4-12 in bios. Still 5.5

Have they bloody broken it?

I know every one says to ignore it because it counts for diddly, but surely there has to be something wrong there? I would be worried if it was just one computer, but the scores on both have dropped badly

Well on the other machine with the low memory rating I have read loads of reasons why that would happen. Sadly I realised that I had ran ATTO on my patriot, and when I ran it on the Corsair.. bad news. Terrible. 18mb writes and 105 reads.

Now either it's knackered or TRIM hasn't been working or something has corrupted it.

I tried running Acronis to a previous date (and here I am !) but alas, it's still FUBAR.

I'm going to load up Diskpart in a minute and unlock and sec erase it, but if that doesn't work it's going to need to be RMA.

Even when I had a 400MB+ read write speed I still got 5.9 Its just a rating that doesn't work very well. It also doesn't notice more than one GPU (I watched afterburner while it ran). I was going to suggest a sec erase, but looks like your already on it. Hope it works out better, or RMA that mother.

Was definitely the Corsair. And I have definitely fixed it.

I think I know what happened too.

A couple of weeks back I fitted a SATA 150 controller for a DVD drive I didn't have a spare channel for. Well, after numerous BSODS and storage controller errors I was forced to pull it. Since then the drive has degraded fast so I think TRIM wasn't working.

Just booted into partmagic and ran a secure erase and unfreeze and I am now hitting 130 write 230 read, as if the drive was new. Recloned with Acronis and scored a 6.9 as I should, which is limited by my SATA controller as it used to hit 7.2 when it was in my Crosshair II.

I have also discovered that for boot times my Corsair pees on the Patriot, so that is going in the other machine as running games from it was a bit poo really, didn't improve anything and a bit of a waste of an SSD

Which will then make way for me to reconnect my dvdrw on SATA.
