POLAR (new specs 22/12/2011)

Woop woop! Working, no pieces missing 580 Lightning arrived in the post today.

Updated first post with some newer pics including this one. Hopefully my cable management looks better than it did originally.

Haven't overclocked it yet, need to know how to use voltage on Afterburner properly first. And want plenty of time aside to do it.

But rest assured, I WILL be overclocking it.

Enjoy.

P.S. If you know how to mess around with voltage in Afterburner please let me know.

Settings, General, Tick "Unlock Voltage Control"

If you do Todd's suggestion and it still does not give you the option to adjust voltage than update afterburner. It worked for my gtx 560 ti.

Ordered a couple of Barracudas in todays payday specials at Aria as unfortunately the SSDs didn't come as low as I was hoping for, then again I was hoping for a lot. Will add a pic to the first post and a new post once installed but obviously won't make a fuss and dance about it all until I have an SSD in there as well, hopefully by the end of Summer.

Another small thing that happened was the included sound card broke which has been replaced with a Xonar DG until I get a Xonar Xense by the end of the year as I'm in need of a headset as well.

Edit: Decided against photos for the HDDs, might take a picture of them with the SSD when I buy that.

Updates, did a small bit of work over the summer holidays and bought an SSD. A Mushkin Callisto Deluxe. Can't say I've noticed a huge leap in performance but most likely because it's SATA 2 as my motherboard doesn't have SATA 3. Also thanks to hmmblah for letting me know in the Crysis 2 texture pack thread that I can use my OEM key on a 64 bit windows disc, you sir have saved me £175.

Next up is most likely an Asus Xonar Xense, working more next week so should be able to have it soonish.

Thank you but you're a tad late to the party, got the Lightning and posted that pic back in April.

If you've got time to, gut it all and rebuild it, get some silver glitter and spray it all over the Phantom. Fan badges on the Lightning also.

Only suggestions

Doesn't particularly take my fancy that, sorry.

Update, turns out the CPU wasn't particularly stable at 4GHz at 1.4V so it is now 3.8GHz.

Also I am now a few hours into leak testing my new watercooling loop.

Parts are an XSPC Raystorm CPU block, an XSPC X20 750 pump & RES, an XSPC EX360 RAD, 3 Scythe GT 1850s, Bitspower compression fittings, a couple of Bitspower 45 angle fittings, Primochill Primoflex tubing and Mayhems Pastel Blue Berry coolant. Will post more pictures when everything is complete, new pictures will also show off the Xonar Xense.

Well this is a bummer, did a Google search about a rattling noise that the pump was making.

I thought it might have been the noise this pump usually makes.

But it turns out this is actually a problem and other people have had to get replacements.

I've contacted XSPC about it.

I had just finished leak testing as well.
