"Polar Claw" X99 rig

After 8 years with my old beloved Cooler Master CM690 nVidia Edition case I finally found it's replacement and now proper cablemanagement is possible.
Also during the same case change I made the transition from X79 to X99 setup.
I reused my drives, gfx and psu.

Old 'Blackbird' made room for 'Polar Claw' =00=









Corsair Vengeance C70 Arctic White case.
MSI X99S SLI Krait Edition, BIOS N.30.
Intel Core i7 5820K 3.3@4.1GHz.
Phanteks PH TC-12DX Black CPU cooler.
Thermaltake Toughpower 1500w PSU.
4x4GB DDR4 Crucial BallistiX Sport 2400MHz@CL16-16-16-39-2T 1.2v.
3x Gainward GeForce GTX 970 4GB 3-way SLi 1051@1251MHz GPU, 1753@1950MHz VRAM.
Intel 330 Series 120GB SSD SATA-III.
Kingston SSDNow V300 240GB SATA-III.
Kingston V-series Gen2 64GB SSD SATA-II.
Samsung SpinPoint F1 640GB,16MB cache, 7200rpm, SATA-II.

The secret to those temperatures are by just using radial blower coolers for 3 way SLi on air I've been using these kinds of coolers for my 3 way setups since 2009 and even with 3x GTX280/470/580/670/780/970 the load temperatures however in the 80 degrees celcius area as max. I just use normal fan profiles the cards come with - no custom ones. The cards max out at around 45% fans speed at 80 degrees celcius.
Also I make sure to have enough airflow around the cards at all times. Using fans with high static pressure really helps pushing the air into tight spaces (just like radiators).

Now load GTAV.

Hehe I don't have GTA V - I've been using Unigine Heaven 4.0 benchmark for around 1hour loop to max out the temperatures on the cards

I have always run 3 way SLi in my main rigs since 2009 Looks empty with just two cards.

The build looks good but IMO i don't really understand why you have a fan in the bottom of your case, Not really a fan of the Green LED Lights IMO would look better with a white LED strip.

For the love of god please change that PSU ASAP.

Why ? it has outlasted my Corsair HX1000, AX1200 and lately EVGA Supernova 1200G2 which both went "AWOL"

I am not particulary fond of the wholes in the side panel myself, but I needed something that would hold a 120mm side fan. I know there are all solid modded pieces you can buy for it, but it lacks a 120mm mounting whole for GPU cooling.

The build looks good but IMO i don't really understand why you have a fan in the bottom of your case, Not really a fan of the Green LED Lights IMO would look better with a white LED strip.

Even if you took the side sticker off we would still know it's a Thermaltake

Bottom and side fan intakes have been known to reduce heat buildup when using SLI/CF, so their placement is with good reason for this build.
