Plextor today announced its second-generation ultra-portable DVD±R/RW CD-R/RW multi-drive. The pocket-sized PX-608CU measures 15.9mm high and weighs just 250g. Isn't it just the quaintest little thing you've ever seen? Feel free to discuss below...

My pet h8 as a laptop owner (which is a bit irrational really) is all these things people want u to plug into it, or have hanging off it.

Personally I`d prefer to replace my dvd/cdrw with a dvdrw than go down this road, but I can understand that with manuf costs being a tad higher than the norm and peoples reluctance to open things on their laptops, that a thing like this will go down great in the add-on section.

Would still annoy me to have 2 optical devices on my laptop when 1 would suffice.

Under £100 tho.. I can see it selling. Bit of a rip when u consider u can buy a full size internal one for less than £20, but still they`ll throw the miniturization tag at it. Power ? meh.

Pocket-Sized? who's it for? Paddington Bear? :p.

Same.

Wow that's a sleek little drive, I'll deffo keep that in mind if I ever have a need for an external burner. Go Plextor!

who has pockets big enough to fit that into? :)

Seems pretty small I guess, but wouldn't you need a laptop of some sort to make use of it? (in the other pocket? )
