Elite PC rubbish that does not work HELP

Hi all

I'm new to the forum and am in need of some advise. I am one off the unlucky people that have something to do with a certain William Duncan (Elite PC), unlike many of the others he actually sent me a PC although it does not work. I ordered a system off him in March and he finally sent me something about 2 weeks ago nothing like the spec i ordered, since then he has gone on the run from the police leaving me no choice but to try and get what he sent me working.

That's were i hope this forum is going to help!!!!!

This a list of the parts i do and don't have.

Parts i think i have

Lian Li Black Aluminum Case

PC Power & Cooling 510 Turbo Deluxe SLi Power Supply Unit (not sure what make or power yet)

AMD Athlon 64Bit FX-55 CPU

Asus A8N-SLI nForce4 Motherboard

1Gb (2x512Mb) Corsair TwinX XMS3200C2PT Memory

Dual XFX GeForce 6800 Ultra Graphics Cards (SLi)

Dual 74Gb WD Raptor 10k rpm Drives

Plextor Black PX-116A DVD-Rom

Plextor Black PX-716A Dual Layer DVD-R/RW

1.44Mb Sony Black Floppy Disk Drive

Creative Labs Audigy2 ZS THX 7.1 Sound Card

The PC came with no Cd's or Manuel's what so ever.

I did have no power leads or monitor but I've bought these things now.

Right so down to business

When i turn it on using the power switch on the back off the case it all seams to fire up OK, the green power light on the motherboard lights up, the lights on the 2 graphics cards light up all the fans are working, the hard drives are are vibrating so i think they are working.

when i first turned it on there was an intermittent beeping noise but that has stopped now?

when i plug the monitor in it says no signal being received??

I've taken out both of the graphics cards and reseated them, I've tried just using 1 GPU, I've taken out the main processor and reseated it, it was glued to the fan on top of it?

I've checked all the internal connections and they seem to be OK.

When i go to turn the thing off again using the power button on the front it will only power down if i hold it down for 6 seconds.

I have taken out 1 GPU, the sound card, Win tv card and taken out 1 of the CD drives.

I have got 6 pin power cables from the PSU and the green LED on the GPU is lit up.

I've tried every combination with the graphics cards.

I have also reset the teh bios.

Hi Rackem, welcome to my forum - I wish it was under better circumstances however..

A few things to check - are both graphics cards connected to the PSU? Presumably they are running on air - do the fans spin? How is your monitor connected? Is it DVI or via the D-Sub connector (if your card has them) - it may be that the TFT needs to be told which connector you are using. Is the motherboard setup to run SLI by default?

If all else fails I will happily diagnose the problem for you here - all you need do is pay shipping. I will do the rest.

all the power leads are in, the card was set up for 2 cards I've since taken 1 out and set it up for one card, it is connected via a DVI cable into port 1 on the NEC LCD 2080UX+ monitor.

if i can't get it working this weekend i will take you up on your offer.

you have been recommended by some other people.

Sorry to hear about you and the Elite PC scam, but it sounds like you have been shipped a faulty motherboard, unfortunatly as you can't return it to will since he's gone on the run (first ive heard about that) you'll have to pay for one yourself.

contact asus and explain your problem, show them your evidence about the dodgy duncan and im sure they will understand. Asus is a very good company to deal with this kinda stuff :) Good luck and hope you get your PC working.

you should try it with one graphics card first, the beeping noise you got first time was probably because of the ram, but if its stopped then it must be something else. can you go into bios??? if so then maybe your mobo is'nt bashed. try another monitor also (just get a cheapo crt monitor and use the dvi convertor). if you still get signal out of range then maybe your card is gone.
