Hi all you inteligent people, could anyone help me with my new rig problem.

It is weird, i have crossfired my 2 xfx radeon HD5770, and im running XP.

But when i start a 3D game i hear a "High low" a disconnection sound, like pulling out a usb drive.

I can play the game ok, but it some times just resets the PC with no explination why.

O aye im currently playing Stalker, it can run Black ops fine, but i dinny like it.

Please help, i will post any thing you require to help me with this.

running Catylist 10.12 with GPU @ 850MHz by 1200Mhz mem clock temp 50 to 82 deg C

Are both cards being used ie are they both getting euqual temps (within 5 to 10c) ?

No, the card connected to my TV runs at 50 on desktop and the other/ disabled card runs at 45, when gaming, like i just did for 20 mins until the dam thing reset, one card reads 55 and the other reads 82.

Is the sound normal for crossfired cards? ie "High low" tone

Should i try using an older version of ATI catylisT?

You have a temperature differentiation of almost 30*C, so I would think that only one card is running atm.

Are you using 1 bridge or 2 crossfire bridges?

EDIT: For two way crossfire I think you're only meant to use one bridge, so if you're using both of them that might be the problem.

EDIT: Also was the setup working on the older drivers?

Well i dinny ken what the pro was / is but now.,.....

I disabled catylist Ai, put all the 3d options to maxium, reset the PC,

It waited for half a min at the welcome screen....

I ran catylist and enabled manual fan contorl on the HDMI card im connected to

set it at 80%, a bit loud but i thought i would need the cooling, left other card at auto.

Ran stalker, no "high low" tone....

Set stalker graphics to max and enhanced lighting, restarted game

Worked fine

Re set just to make sure.. and it still works not discconection tone, dam AI on catylist i think

Checked the GPU temp on the connected card, never went over 75

I think ive fixed it. WOOOOP

oh zeals, my cards are weird, juniper, only one spade on the card, so ive used 1 bridge connector on the only avalible connections

i thought it was weird it only has 1 spade, my mother board said it could take 4 ATI crosfire, must be different cards

DOOH!!!!!!!

Just tried to play dirt 2, was winning then as i turned a corner it reset my dam PC again

I ran GPUZ to monitor the card, it as 50 to 55 deg with a max GPU load of only 13%?

Do you think its the ATI ccc config?

Re enabled cat AI, put it to advanced, GPU load now equal on both cards,

but i get the disconnection sound again when i first start a 3D game

Will try Dirt 2 now and see if it resets again... brb

well thats about 20 resets now

the last time was just tryin to load this web page!!!!

Changed loads of settings in the Bios, but to no avail, im going to try a older crossfireX driver,

thing is i was playing stalker fine for 10 hours yesterday, just today after i tried to fix the "disconnection tone" its gone all to crap

Please help, i want to throw it out the window!!!!

Try to uninstall and re install the ati drivers.
