i am weighting about the corsair fans i need help please

please could you tell which fans would be best for my system

i have a fractal r3 and i would like to no which fans i should get and where i should put them

i see you say about getting af 120mm but i did not no if it would be best for me to get sp 120 for the front of my case as i dont have mesh as you well no i have a door there and
then at the back i have my radiator for my corsair h80 as i don't have it mounted to the top like you do in your rig

so i was thinking of buying

4x 120mm sp fans and putting 2 at the front and 2 on my radiator at the back or should i put the radiator up on the top and run a af on the back please help i am in dyer need of your help

thanks regards

hi

Which radiator do you have?

2 SP120s in the front, 2 on the rad at the rear

Then AF120s in the roof?

omg that is fast reply thanks

i am running a corsair h80 water cooler singal rad on it

prefer this one tho
- do i have to have a fan in the roof as i am trying to lower the fans i have it is as i would like to keep it silent gaming rig so it would 2 120mm sp in the front and 2 120mm sp on the rad on the back and none in the roof

-or can i could i run 2 sp in front and 1 sp in the roof with my rad and a af in the back

It doesnt really matter how many fans you have in your rig up to a point. More of the quality and noise of the individual fans.

My rig is silent with 10 fans in total in there - likely to be more soon. I'm not saying you should have that many - but if you set them up at the right voltages to start with then you can make a rig completely silent.

What I'm saying is - you could put 2 140mm fans in the roof of your case, run them at very low speeds which will mean you'd be able to run the front 2 intake fans at very low speeds too...
This can give better cooling performance and be quieter with 4 fans spinning at low RPMs than just the 2 at the front spinning at higher RPMs.

ok so how would you have it would you have the rad on back like before then 2 af on the top 2 sp on the front and 2 sp on the rad on the back

ps what are fractal standed fans like as i have 3 but i am going be changing them for af/sp fans

Better than most fans that come with cases but still not the best.

I would do it like you've said yeh. I probably wouldnt use the Corsair fans though but that's just me.

^^ Like that.

I've fallen in love with Silverstone Air Penetrators as they are very good fans, only £12 from scan and come with voltage resistors that let you regulate between 5v, 7v and 12v - rather than just 7v of 12v like the corsairs. At 5v and 7v the silverstones are completely silent, and look amazing.

hi

I'm confused?
2 SPs in the front
2 AFs in the roof
2 SPs on the H80

ok i agree so lets say i do that which ones do i get the quiet ones or the high performence

and why

also if i was to get the high one would it make a diffrence in sound that much as i am running a r3 case or would i be able to hear them thanks for all this

I'd say high as you can buy some voltage resistors to put them down - but you cant buy anything to put the quiet ones up if you wanted to

ok so let say i do get those ones where do i buy the voltage resistors from

and would it be ok to just ave the 2 sp at the front and 2 sp on rad at the back and none on top would air flow be good or not

Well ideally you'd want something blowing over the motherboard and RAM and graphics card, just to exhaust the air out the top - so I'd have at least one.

Where are you from?

right ok so i should go for 2xsp at te front blowing air in and then 2x sp blowing air out the back with my rad in the middle and also 2x af 120/140mm fans at the top blowing air out as well yer

you can wire form the molex a 5-volt tap. swap the red and yellow pins in the molex and
now you have 5-volt. nothing to buy..
