Please help me find a 5960 that unlocks

Hello everyone. I've searched for two days for a good 6950 that will unlock to 6970 for sure. I know the newer cards cannot be unlocked anymore, so I probably have to look for a reference model, but after searching on Newegg.com I can't get a definite answer.

My #1 choice was going to be the Sapphire 6950 2GB Toxic, but they are sold out! That card is an absolute beast destroying the 570 & up to par or better than 580 according to http://www.hardocp.com/article/2011/08/29/sapphire_toxic_hd6950_video_card_review

However some of the later buyers of the Toxic also report this card being locked. Can someone link me a couple 2GB 6950s that will definitely unlock? I am looking to buy on Monday / Tuesday once my Paypal clears. Thank you for your help as always.

Case: Cooler Master Storm: Enforcer

CPU: Intel Core i5 2500k @ 4.5Ghz

Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 PRO

PSU: CORSAIR Professional Series Gold AX850

Cooling: CORSAIR Hydro Series H80

Solid State Drive: Crucial M4 64GB )

Internal Hard Drive: WD Caviar Black 750GB (64MB cache)

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (1600)

I believe that the MSI TF III OC PE can unlock to a 6970 - it has a switch on it for a dual bios.

Well mine unlocks clock limits but not the shaders

yeah I cannot find any reference models though, checking newegg, tigerdirect and even amazon. Anyone got a link? I will check the MSI, thanks

It would have to be an older 6950 reference card. The new 6950s i believe are hard fixed so they can't be unlocked.

I guess I'll either try the MSI Twin Frozer III one or get a Sapphire / XFX board and just overclock it.

If i am not mistaken i think AMD stopped the production of the 6950.
