I can vouch for the E8400's. I wish I had kept hold of mine tbh. They are sterling chips!

EDIT: WTF, wheres that post gone that mentioned the E8400's??

It's done with recomendations from here I'm no longer an AMD guy. Just bought from Newegg:

Intell E7400

CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 4GB

EVGA 790i SLI FTW

This CPU does rock, so far I got it to 4.1 after tinkering for about an hour. I'm sure the motherboard does help a good bit with my OC. All with just air, I am sooooo happy.

Very nice. Remember it is recommended to stay under 1.38v on 45nm chips.

Not saying you're wrong, but where did the magic figure of 1.38v come from?

Yes I've read that in other forums here and there. BUT that's if you want your CPU to last the test of time. With this new socket I have MANY upgrade choices for the future, so I'm not worried about it lasting. Just as long as I get some sort of warning that it's ready to pass and last at least a year.

I've decided to run it at 4ghz @ 1.4volts. Memory FSB is slightly lower, DDR3, but a good bit higher then rated.

What programs good to show all this info to me? All the volts timings ect...

My last CPU was the longest I've ever went without upgrading. It was and still is a good one. AMD Opteron 180, dual core @ 2.6ghz. I couldn't get it past 2.8 stable on an Asus A8N SLI-Deluxe, so it stayed at 2.8 for 3 years. Only reason I never upgraded was because it was just about the best you could get for the 939 socket (DON'T START, LET IT STOP THERE).
