Phenom II 965 with LLC

Hi guys,

At the moment I am messing about with overclocking my Phenom II 965 chip, and tweaking the LLC on my Gigabyte 990FX-UD3. I followed the Z77 overclocking guide to get an idea on how to OC properly. I think I read somewhere that whatever LLC setting I choose, the line on the voltage graph in OCCT won't stay constant from idle to load.

Just as a tester, I under-volted the CPU to 1.3250v, and set the CPU speed to 3.5GHz, then ran an OCCT test (1 min idle then 1 min load) for each LLC setting.

Regular

Medium

High

Ultra High

Extreme

Which LLC setting is ideal for this speed? Just trying to get to grips with it. The Intel LLC looks much more simple to configure.

Any help would be awesome

Whichever is "best" is whichever works best. Generally I prefer the Ultra High setting so start with that and see how your results are. If you hit a wall, try some of the others. What my board and CPU like best might not be the same as what your board and CPU prefer.
