Phase On the Naked CPU.

Make some kind of shim around the core to the same height to stop the core being crushed by the evap head.

Its also good to insulate the surface mount components around the core as these can generate coldbug if exposed to direct die cooling apparently.

Maybe if ya build up electrical tape or similar around the core- kill 2 birds with one stone, thus in turn not killing the CPU.

Arctic ceramique is best for sub-zero yea, but i`d put it on the CPU core, then ya can check for am imprint on the evap so ya know ya got good contact.

Dielectrics grease and/or conformal is also good on the core.. maybe use conformal instead of electrical tape?

First thing is that you will need a copper shim (2mm thickness) to allow contact onto the Naked core.

I used electrical tape over the exposed chips around the core itself, scorchio cut out a gasket from an old credit card to cover the outer rim.

This prevents the core from being put under too much pressure - of which lately I have seen a few cracked cores.

It's great for temps - but horribkly bad if it all goes wrong.

Tis true, the edges of the die can crumble away - or even crack in half :O

Credit cards work great, you can measure the thicknesses with a micrometer. You'll see they actually come in quite a range of thicknesses 8)
