Video: EVGA GTX 570 SC

SSD: 64GB Crucial C300

HDD: 1TB WD

PSU: Corsair HX850

Case: NZXT Phantom

Like the big window but on the other door where you replaced the mesh did you think about where the airflow from the side fan is gonna go now you blocked it off?

very nice work on the rig m8

gonna do that with my fans aswell, never tought of it :s any change in temps with the sidefans in the bottom and front ? looks awsome thb

Thanks everyone!

Hopefully the airflow will go right from the front of the case to the back, like I wanted it to

If you meant the mesh on the bottom of the right side panel, it was causing all the air from the front of the case (all three fans, two 120mm front-side and 140mm front fan) to go right out the side of my computer without even reaching the CPU or GPU. Once I closed it off together with the bottom, my temps went down elsewhere (CPU mostly) by around 6 C. I still have yet to close off the front-most bottom vent, but I plan to soon.

If you meant the big mesh on the left side panel, well, the air from that fan seemed to only be hitting the back of the GPU and then going straight out my back exhaust fan. So I won't miss it, even if my GPU goes up a couple degrees (doesn't seem to be any higher just eye-balling it today).

Another little note about Phantom cooling: I had closed off the right side and bottom before doing this mod to check for temps. That's when I got that 6 C drop.

No big temp change anywhere by switching one of them to the bottom, but I'm stuck with it now

The biggest drop in temps was when I closed off the right side panel mesh.

Just found this referenced from another thread - good job. Did you use 3M double sided mounting tape to keep the acrylic in place?

Yep, I did. Cut it into thinner strips and lined the plexi. Also put a dab of super glue in the corners just in case.

Looks awesome man. good stuff! too bad your PSU wasn't white thou... I think that would make it look even better

Yeah in hindsight, had I known I was going to get a Phantom I'd have gone with a white NZXT PSU. Maybe a mobo that matches better, too, although I love the Sabertooth. At the time I bought the HX850, I was planning to do a rougher, military-style build with something like the HAF-X. But the Phantom tempted me too much.

Maybe I'll do a more serious mod complete with painted fans and sleeved cables in the future. For now I just wanted a window in my Phantom

Noted the same as well, I've blocked one of the fronts as well as the right hand side mesh and I use the front and one side because due to the nature of the 200mm fan it causes neg pressure anyway and this helps keep dust out because it has to go through the filters. Temps are also better for me as more air gets to the GPUs although my CPU temps are better with an open case when GPUs are stressed because they exhaust inside (folding...).

Proper job, that fella. Not exactly my cuppa tea but I know what customisation's about - you liking it and enjoying it. Looks very neat and tidy!
