PETA have contacted Games Workshop's CEO and have requested that the company bans fur garments for their fictional characters.

Read more on PETA's request to remove fur from Warhammer.

Special thanks to DiceHunter for bringing this to my attention. He has also gotten me ultra annoyed at how pointless this whole situation is (very frustrated at PETA).

I laughed so damn hard when i saw that... im sure in the heresy books/storyline planets get destroyed so the animals can be dead but not allowed to wear them oh no! and whats the proof its not fake fur ... ;)

If they want to spend their money why not come out with an art style for 40k that shows they are just fake fur for warmth.

Or something more positive right now all they are doing is complaining and not changing or showing positives if thats makes sense, sad as they have done alot of good but they are dragging their own name down.

PETA kills so many animals simply because they're not living the life of luxury that I don't think they have the right to say anything. PETA is almost like one big giant troll, they're that dumb. One of these days they're going to jump out of the figurative cake and say it was all one big prank.

PETA, like unfortunately pretty much any X-rights movement, for some reason don't realize how their actions are counterproductive to their cause. The treatment of animals is a fairly important discussion, but no one wants to have it because they immediately connect it with PETA taking jabs at anyone who offends against their code of ethics even slightly. Shaming people won't make them suddenly overthink their ethics and join your cause, it will turn them from neutral to against you.

What is PETA exactly? Sorry if a stupid question. I know few EU committees, being from the US and all

PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is the largest animal rights organization, they are based in the US. They are a bit on the extreme side of things.

If PETA are based in the US maybe they should go after the NRA, that would be interesting.

No rifles = no animals getting shot.

It may even save a few humans.

You could go hunting with a bow. Also you already need to get permission to hunt (i think, that's how it works here at least) and that the stock of animals like boars needs to be regulated should make sense even to the most devoted dreadlock hippie.
