what do you all recomend for pent 4 3.2 gig on a MSI PT 880 mother board I have one case fan and two fans on my 550 power supply so want to add a better than stock fan so need suggections.

Or just a regular XP-90 if you have no plan's of OC'ing. (Via chipset, i wldnt count on it.)

xp-90's are about half the price, but offer 3/4 the performance :).

Yep.. I was just assuming he was going to overclock otherwise he probably wouldn't want to get rid of the stock heatsink.

And he's on SysXtreme ;)

medic13, good luck OC'ing mate. Via PT880. Good luck. (No offense to your motherboard in all, but Via is teh suk for OC'ing. :()

if hes on sysxtreme he must be looking to overclock if so XP-90c, if not xp-90 ;)

yes mate VIA are great for stock but for like overclocking they are teh suck i cant get my cpu to budge over 250mhz overclock

not everyone on sx oc's m8. dont assume.

It's not assuming, logout and take a look at what the first page says. This is an overclocking forum ;) If you don't overclock you're at the wrong place IMO!

However I didn't take into account his VIA chipset, and therefore an XP-90 will do just fine :)

yes I want the best one , now for next question what mother board would you recomend since noone likes the via mb . I will ask the full question in mother board section.Pent 4 3.2 478

Hi medic13, assuming that you want a motherboard to work with your current processor, i'd say go for the Abit IC7-G - its pretty much the best board you can get for Socket 478.

You may not be able to find many S478 boards brand new now, so check out ebay for some real bargins.

I agree with him^ He's a bit of a don when it comes to P4's ;)

And the XP-90 or XP-90c will be great as a heatsink with eiher a panaflo or a sanyo denki fan.

I have an XP-120 which is also pretty sweet :)

xp120 wd be best for quiet performance. it performas the same as an xp90c but quieter and mroe selection for fans.

Yep ahh luuurve my pana ;)

Mine made a slight vibrating noise and there was nothing i could do to stop it.

So being me, I destroyed it.

I never want to see another XP-120 again :)
