Just wanted to ask as my future mobo will only have 8 PCI express lanes, can i install a PCI (8x) wireless card in one of the PCI express slots?

i know it wil take so bandwidth of the lanes but i will only have 1 graphics card installed.

thanks

the mobo is big bang marshall P67 (waiting for its release)

With ALL the pci slots filled its got 2x16 2x8 4x1 (52 total?) lanes if im not mistaken, a pci-e wireless card wont impact a single gpu at all tbh, tri sli/crossfire would have a problem denting the performance i wouldnt think.

Ohhh, no you cant, going to need either a pci-e card or a to get a different motherboard, sorry i didnt read your post fully

i bought two mini PCIe adapters so you can use a laptop wireless card with the adapter, to put it inside either a PCI lane, or PCIe lane, so it doesnt matter what motherboard i get i will always have a spot for it, and when wireless N gets outdated, i can just swap the laptops wireless card for another

works VERY well

The PCI Wireless card gives you continuous access to your home wireless router or office network. In which PCI has connect lane motherboard and it will get always have a spot for it, and when wireless N gets outdated.
