PCI-E x1 Extremely low profile Riser/Extender Cablse

Hello Guys and gals Im hoping someone can help me find a solution to my mates woes he has 2 triple slot cards on his mobo which cover every PCIE slot on the board (Rampage 4 Extreme) but would like to add a soundcard (PCIE x1) now I have been having a good googling trying to find one that he could fit under his cards the closest I have came is this but even that looks like it would have clearance issues with the shroud of the cards...anybody any experience with these?Could I safely remove the blue shroud on the male connection in the card posted, seems that would be the only thing stopping it fitting underneath the video cards??

EDIT:Having a look at other similar extensions it seems you cant remove the blue shroud as it is protecting a small pcb any suggestions?

looks like thin plastic to me, should be easy to remove, it's fine to remove it as long as it's not touching anything metal, as the plastic is to stop shorts
