PCI E Frequency

I just been looking at all the diffident settings on my mobo and i came across PCI Express frequency. it was set to 100mhz so i though what would be the harm in changing it so i changed it to 120mhz. Big mistake, my computer wouldn't boot so i had to reset the bios. I was just wondering what does the frequency mean and what would it do if i changed it. would it make my graphics card faster or would it blow up my mobo. If somebody does know what it does what would be the right setting. My RIG specs are in my profile.

You really should mess with the pcie frequency if you don’t know what you’re doing.(lock it to 100) . It might improve your overclock but personally I would not go over 105Mhz.

I googled the subject. Forums say OC'ing it improves OC'd graphics card stability, better performance.

Mine is 106mhz. I tried 108 and it didn't display

Done some tweeking and it's at 108 OK now
