PC won't boot from USB or DVD

Hi,

I am trying to install W7 onto my new agility 3 ssd on my Acer Aspire 7540 notebook.

The problem is I cannot get my laptop to recognise the DVD or USB to boot from either.

I have set boot sequence correctly in bios.

"No OS Found" is what I get or when I have the original HDD in which has a Ubuntu/W7 dual boot it recognises that and boots.

I have also tried to do the same with my sisters laptop which is identical to mine. no joy.

I used ultra iso, Universal USB installer and RT 7 Lite to prepare the usb. None work.

Any ideas or suggestions?

If the method Alicarve posted doesn't work try the Ultra ISO method from this guide http://forums.mydigi...ps-Easy-Process

non of the other methods worked for me and I tried them all, the only one that did work was the Ultra ISO one.

Thanks for the responses.

I tried to give that first method a go but it got stuck at step 5 saying "Device not ready".

I'm thinking I may need to give the laser a clean.

I have also bought new media.. asides from the usb I had tried using dvd rw's, picked up some DVD+R and will see if they work.

ermm if your sure that the key has windows on it, when you boot you may have to press F10 or something similiar it gives you a boot option and choose from usb key and it should work, btw this is when it is prepping to go into bios, i had the same problem before

I got this sorted in the end. Looks like the .iso was the problem.
