Pc takes tooooo long to boot

Hello everyone

Recently, i dont remember if it started from my last format or no but my pc takes too long to boot. And i mean like 8-10 minutes if not more. It sticks on the republic of gamers for 5 minutes, and another 5 minutes on starting windows. I really dont know what is going on. I think this could be a motherboard issue.

I had my hard drives as a raid 0 and i separate them just to see if that was the problem but its not. I format both of them and installed windows on both of them but still thats not the problem.

I cleared cmos and load different profiles. Still not the problem.

Unplugged replugged drives, still nothing.

Got a rampage 3 extreme motherboard. Gtx 580. 950 i7. 6gb ram.

Any ideas how to fix this or what this might be? What product's fault might be so i could replace it if possible.

i honestly think you're hard drive is on the way out

see if you can run a diagnostic on it

Does it also happen after restarts, or is it just a cold boot? Damn, that sounds weird... What about system stability? Any other issues?

USB drive plugged in ? or any usb devices that aren't mouse/keyboard ?

I also think its a hard-drive failure issue, try connecting the drives to different sata ports and see if that helps

• well initially i thought its not an hd issue cuz as i mentioned i had 2x in raid and i separate them to test them individually. But with both of the the problem persists.
  
• And it happens even with a restart or a normal boot. Sometimes but rarely it starts normally.
  
• I dont have any external hd connected, i know they make boot very slow so i removed any external hd i had.
  
• em stability issues i think no. Well the standard issues a pc has nothing special. But the boot is something else...
  

I didnt try to change sata port though gonna try that. and see what i get

Get your bios down to default and start from there.

Seems to boot normally now. The cable to the motherboard was not well connected heh. Thank you MerryMutsu that you mentioned it Didnt thought the cable couldnt be well connected but i guess it happens.

hm I think the ROG label sticking is due to maybe an accidental change, you can set how long you want the splash screen to show up upon boot try to find that in bios and set it to a desired time as for the 5 minutes into windows well idk if hard drives died slowly then that would be it but I don't think they do.
