ok well a while back my pc started freezing randomly when playing games and now its doing it again but worse and its really annoying.

i have tried de fragging both my hdd's and all of the other progs to remove un necessary stuff but no luck and i dont know what else it could be

someone help me:(

cheers.

Have you tried Memtest86+ on both sticks (one at a time if necessary) to see if they get errors.

Freezing + Games = Memory Issues imo

I don't suppose you have a DFI motherboard by any chance?

If not you could plug in a flash drive and set it to boot removable drive first :)

i was thinking the vid card the other day when it froze badly with loads of lines and funny colours,i had to reboot...

i have asus mobo

Have you messed with the vid cards BIOS recently?

nope frag, but it is overclocked(look at my profile for rig specs)

Have you declocked to test stability w/o extra clocks? Your CPU might be clocked too high as well, there are a million things that can cause this problem.

i tried with my cpu at stock but it still freezes,i have downed my vid cards clock a few mhz recently to see if anything would happen but nothing.

the highest temp from my 7800gt ive seen is about 70c so could it really be the card?

i play mostly css(addict:p )

cheers.

i played for about 50mins and it froze once but i think it was the server as i came out of game to the menu and refreshed the server list and it wasnt responding.

everything is at stock now too :S

cheers.

Well, it's certainly not the best thing to have. Could also be the thing that is limiting your stability (temperature does affect OC and CPU stability) You on stock cooling?

So I'm lazy, what can I say? ;)

Those temperatures seem unnaturally high, even if it were stock cooling (stock would probably more like high 40's). On an XP-120 I would say max should be more like 40-44C. What is the ambient temperature? If it's not too high, I would say you have horrid contact between the CPU and the XP-120. Try reseating it first.

not sure on ambient temp but theres a couple of temp probes hangin around in my case so i can get a vague idea of case temp and they are reading...

26.1c and 22.1c
