Painting Anodized Aluminum

Couldn't find a specific forum where this should go, so since it is for my WC rig, voila. :)

Getting a couple of these from Swiftech:
http://www.swiftech.com/HD6900-HS.aspx

They are Black Anodized Aluminum. Now, am thinking about if I can paint them white. Essentially I would have to get an etching compound and paint over the black to "prime" it, the use an acrylic or oil based white? Also, how would the heat affect the new paint job?

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this.

Thanks,
Whaler

to be honest, the paint/power coating will insulate and defeat the purpose to
radiate the heat from the source. there was a long discussion on this very action
of painting motherboard heatsinks.
the paint/coating will be a thicker application than the anoidization. so a word of
caution: realize the cooling potientials will deteriorate from painting the heatsink(s).

Never thought of that, but does make sense, that it would further insulate it. Thanks for the heads up.
