Hi,

I have just received 2 PA120.3 rads' but I bought them from eBay and they have no instructions screws etc'.

I notice that they have a small screw in the opposite end to the barbs, is this for bleeding ? only I thought that they would be self bleeding or are they just in case of very stubbern air ?

Any help !!

Thanks,

Yes its a bleed screw use as you will

So don't they self bleed ??

Are they prone to trapping air ??

Only where I am mounting them it will be very awkward and dangerouse to bleed them in place, which will mean having to bleed them out of the case and then mount them whilst the system is full.

I have a pa120.3 in my rig, and i have it horizontally in the top of my case. Haven't touched the bleed screw. Think you would only need it if you are planning to use the rad vertically with the barbs at the bottom.

Ah !! that sounds good as I will be mounting both of them horizontaly.

Thanks for the help.

Wow these things are much deeper than I expected, should do one hell of a job cooling :yumyum:

Does anyone know how much coolant they hold, so I know roughly how much to order ??

Thanks

Look at my thread: http://forum.overclock3d.net/showthread.php?t=24282

you can see my cpu only loop with small res and 1 pa120.3 and 1 pa120.1

I put about 2litres in it. I also used 7 feet of masterkleer 7/16 tubing.

As you've got two of the biguns, a 250 res?? I'd suggest 3 litres. should be fine. But as aqua-pcs and watercoolinguk do free postage, its not a big deal if you don't have enough.

Ouch !!

Thanks for that, I have ordered fesser uv red for one loop and fesser uv blue for the other but only one litre of each, so I guess I will be needing some more, lol :):)

Do you know how much the actual rad holds alone ??

In that case you'd ideally need 1.5ltr of each lol. At least you should have spare.

Don't have a clue how much the rad on its own hold.

Do a quick calc. The total volume of the entire rad is 5x12x43cm, ok that volume is 2.5litres ish, and the fins take up most of the rad say 70% therfore 2.5*0.3= 0.75 litres!!!!

Yep, better to have more than less, I'll get another couple on order in the morning, I need to just test the rads for leaks first so with a 250 res a ddc ultra with xspc top and two pa120.3 rads I don't think 1 litre will be enouth even for testing.

Oh well there goes another day, it's going on 4 months now for this build, lol.

Still, one day the monster will arise :worship::worship::worship:

Lol, my watercooling took months aswell, atm i'm using brita filtered water in the loop. Need to change really. haha

Any idea if there is much of a boost in cooling with having six fans on a PA120.3 (3 pushing and 3 pulling) instead of just the three pushing ??

I'm not using shrowds but they are going into a Mountain mods case (UFO custom build, 13 blow holes, lol) so they mount up to the blow holes nicely.
