P5B problem. Fixed yet?

I just purchased a Mach II GT, and I had been planning to buy a P5B-E or P5B Deluxe. But I was just reading about the cold boot problem those boards have. Does anyone know if it's been resolved, or do I still need a second PSU?

I was also reading that it's difficult to mount Mach evap on a P5B, is that fairly easy to get around, or should I consider a different board?

Thanks for any help!

The boot problem is around 75% gone.

I aint used a Mach for around 4 months, but I think with some re-wiring, the problem should go away.

The CPU area aint great, in terms of CPU clearance, i`d wait for the rest of the 680I boards to come out :)

you could put a switch on the 12V line between the control board and molex, and only turn it on after the board has finished being random.

kinda like..

1/Turn Mach on, let it pull down for a known and suitable time

2/ Trigger mobo manually

3/turn on LCD display with a switch

The LCD isnt that important, just shows nice messages and incorrect temp readings :p

Thanks, I think I understood that. Once my Mach arrives, I'll look at how it's wired.

One last question (for now at least), if my board is doing the cold boot thing, will it be obvious? Like will the compressor be making weird sounds or something?

Not sure about how the Mach will behave, but the board powers up for an instant, then off for a second, then back on..you`ll know it when you see it :)

Great. Thanks for all your help. I'll probably be back with more questions, once I get my computer built in a month or so.
