just wondering, overclocking with different operating system have you achieved better overclocks?

example

windows xp 32-64

windows vista 32-64

windows 7 32-64

cant say...64bit is better then 32bit or vise versa

im askin if you had the time to test both and which o/s did u use?

With my old am2 set up but not on my current rig, ive tested xp pro 32 bit, vista buisness 64 bit, and win 7 ult 64 bit (visual settings max and min).

If your going for max possable overclock just to get a screenshot/cpu-z screeny/similar then id recomend xp or win 7 with visual settings on minimum, as them seems to use the least requirements while loading into windows, and i managed to screen shot around 100mhz higher on my athlon x2 6000+ (3.45 vista 3.55ish xp/7)

As for max stable ive only seen around 1-10mhz difference between os.

TL;DR:

For max oc try tiny xp/xp/7 with visual setting on minimum.

If going for max stable it makes little difference.

And i dont think 32/64 bit makes any difference from what ive seen

Not sure I know what you mean.. are you overclocking from the OS?

But if you are looking for sheer speed XP 64bit but seriously lited and you will end with a very very responsive system.

I recommend all overclocking is done in the bios.
