The XP-90 came a few days ago :D, and although I've been gathering information for some time, I'd like to run a few things by y'all to double check.

1. Is it all right to run a 90mm Panaflo off the mobo CPU fan header? It would be the only fan running off the mobo power, the case fans are on 4-pin connectors. The Panaflo only draws 0.2A. I ask because I heard it is not good to run certain fans off the mobo headers.

2. Max safe Vcore? (on air obviously) I think somewhere in the range 1.52-1.55V.

3. Max safe Vdram? My RAM is UCCC rated at 2.8V, so I'd assume not much over that.

4. How to clean the TIM off the CPU... I read acetone + alcohol in some places, but AMD doesn't recommend those.

Thanks :)

Hi Mate

You've done some decent research there.

1. Ye should be ok. I ran a high-speed panaflo off of the CPU fan ehader and it ran fine

2. Yep 1.55 is about right - depending on temps. Maybe a little more if they're ok

3. Yep 2.8 is about right I think. Maybe 2.9 with good active cooling

4. Tim Cleaner is good thats what I use :)

If you've got some GooGone it work's great to clean thermal paste, too :p. That's what I use, even though we have some ArcticClean

My first experiments with overclocking have commenced... I decided to see what I could get out of it with the stock cooling before I tried the XP-90. So far it's doing better than I expected :worship: :worship: Full report upon completion! :) (or I may have questions as I go ;) )

Hurry back with results! Anxious to see what she can do :)
